Ecostyler! Olive or Argan? Please weigh in.
I'm almost out of my B5 design gel which I do like and will probably repurchase but I want to try either ecostyler with olive or ecostyler with argan oil next time since I keep seeing it at the drugstore and it's very cheap. Which one is better? Just taking a poll. I like a lot of hold since I'm 3A and I like my curls to not lose their shape overnight.

I like both.. But the argan oil one can be used in combination with almost all d conditioners while the olive oil one might leave residues

i decided ro try the olive oil lately, and so far it didn't "blend" with any of my conditioners yet
not sure if i'll buy the argan oil...i felt a bit tricked after trying to blend it with 5(!!!) different conditioners amd none of the combinations working.
There should be a warning to it,like "Can cause residues when used with most conditioners" haha

You are the best. Thanks Priya and B! Boy am I glad I bothered to ask. I like my products to mix well with one another and I haven't had a problem so far. Then I haven't tried too many combinations yet either. I just do a little leave in and gel but I notice from people's posts and signatures a lot of curly girls layer one gel or styling product on top of the other so I guess everyone must be concerned with products playing nicely. I will get the argan then. Or maybe the clear though I like the idea of my gel having some sort of moisturizer in it. I think after picking this up I will stop being lazy and try to make my own flax seed gel. It can't be that hard.

For me olive oil eco works with PM The Conditioner. That's the only conditioner not causing problems for me and OO eco. I like that my shrinkage is a little less with it as opposed to argan oil eco. But the argon oil one works perfectly for me with Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture which is much cheaper than PM. Overall I like them both.

I like the argan one the best however for me they were quite similar and I didn't have issues with either one not blending.

All the Eco stylers mix well with the PM 'the conditioner'

I've had good results with both, but I prefer the argan oil.

My point was the ONLY conditioner that the olive oil one works with for me is "the conditioner" that I've been able to find and I've tried a lot. I had a whole thing of it and it took me forever to figure out what to use it with. So OP you just have to be careful I think with the olive oil one, because there may be a lot of trial and error there.

I got it!
And it works great! The argan that is. Nice scent too. Happy bouncy curls tonight and all the livelong day. From reading people's responses I'm guessing it depends on your hair not just products whether or not the OO will work. But I like to play it safe and I don't have any Paul Mitchell right now. One purchase at a time.

The hold is the same on both of the gels. The differences are the scent and claim benefits:
Olive Oil Eco Styler Gel- Aids in circulation to the scalp, stimulates growth.
Moroccan Argan Oil Eco Styler Gel- Maximum softness, brillant shine and manageability.

I love my crystal EcoStyler, so I imagine they all work pretty much the same. Maybe with different hold levels.

I have both gels but prefer the Olive Oil one hands down. I've used it without issue with my staple Curl Junkie Argan & Olive Oil and PM The Conditioner.
For some reason, I felt there was something "odd" about how the Argan Oil Eco felt as I applied it to my hair but recall my end results were fine.

NYCgirl, I have to ask I keep seeing "Curl Junkie" in people's signatures but I've never seen it at a store. Is this line one of those you have to buy online?

The hold on Argan is too light for me. Can't work for my wash and go, but can occasionally lay my edges.
Olive is just the opposite. The hold is extreme. Slicks my edges and clumps my hair like glue.

Yes, for the most part, this product line is primarily available online but there are some select BSS here and there that carry this.
You can find it online at the Curl Junkie website as well as Aveyou.com. If you are not at all familiar with this line, definitely go to the Curl Junkie website to get detailed info on all of their products. They have a lot of great stuff and the prices aren't too bad but IMO is worth the $.

Thanks, I'll look into it! I don't like ordering online in general but if it works really well I'll make an exception.
