Default Curl enhancing product for wavy/fine hair

So I have been CG for several months, and would like to use more natural products for my hair. I have fine/low porosity/med density hair that can get easily weighed down. I want to use some sort of curl enhancing products, but not of “cream” consistency. I fell creams are too heavy for my fine hair and can leave me over conditioned if use frequently. I was previously using Deva foam, but am experimenting using products without polyquats in them. I did like the airiness of the foam, but did leave my hair coated and tangley after few uses. I have also tried recoil, which was amazing the very first use, but every time after has been a disaster. I am currently using KCCC for my enhancer and jelly with BRHG for hold. I like the product, but it adds another 1-2 hours of drying time to me regime I have searched the site, but really haven’t seen any other products being mentioned, that are not cream based. I have done couple heavy duty PT treatments and feel my moisture/protein balance is pretty good. So any ideas would be great...thank you again for your input

Have you ever tried light to medium hold gel? My hair is easily weighed down too. I have tried two kinds of strong hold gels and they both gave me 2b/c hair instead of my usual 3a... Light and medium gels work fantastically for me though and i never feel that it coats

Have you tried deva curl: light defining gel, angel. ? I don't have the same texture as you but I also can not use heavy creams. However, I love deva angel it is my go to for gel. Other gels are to heavy or leave a cast which I don't like.

Thanks for your suggestions aqua_lily and foxyempress...I have unfortunately tried several kinds of gel...I have always felt gel just coats my hair...doesn't really enhance my waves/curls...I actually have been experimenting with using "jelly" products instead of gel...and im really liking the results...I guess there is no other options...it seems like either gels or creams...hmm maybe I should event a curl enhancer for the fine hair curlies. ..

I can recommend SM's soufflé!!! It's a thick jelly, and you don't need a lot of it.

SM also makes a curl enhancing smoothie - I've yet to try it, but I hear its somewhat heavy, and that their curl and shine milk is the same thing basically, just thinner. You might give those a shot!

Btw... Have you tried a mousse instead of a gel?

I find that if I leave enough conditioner in my hair, then scrunch in some mousse, that I usually don't get that coated feeling. I can only pull off mousse in the winter-time though. Not sure why...

I would second Jas's SM souffle suggestion. I bought the souffle recently because it said on the tub that using it on wet hair would produce "riotous" curls, and I wanted to see what the heck that would mean. Well, after using it, my curls were extreme (tighter and wilder than usual), which sometimes is exactly what I want. I was surprised by how much I liked this product, given some of the negative reviews.

The SM mousse might also be a good option for you. I don't know if there are any reviews here yet, but I just bought some and plan to post a review as soon as I try it. It might be a little harder to find than the souffle though, since it just came out, but SM has a list on their FB page of where you can find it.
