Dove conditioners..Please!

Has anyone used a Dove Conditioner?? I dont think there are any reviews of them. I used one this AM and my hair looks perfect, I love it. I am wondering if anyone else has tried one - this was - I forgot the name - it has a pink design, I think it is Revitalizing..wondering if its just a fluke of a good hair day or if I should stock up...

Is it CG?

Myrna 01-16-2013 03:00 PM

That is one of my questions, but I think it is, I did not see any cones in the ingredients.

Jas76 01-16-2013 04:43 PM

I used Dove until I went CG. Mine were NOT cone free, but yours may be.

For me my hair would look good the first couple days, but then it felt weighed down AND dried out.

But I was still pooing regularly, with sulfate, and the dove condish I was using did have cones.

Would be interested to hear how things continue for you with it!

I haven't used Dove in a long time but I use to love the conditioner, I didn't have any issues with build up and dryness and I loved the smell. I'm not particular about cones so any conditioner that works for me is a keeper.

i find they make my hair really really soft but weighs it down, i love it after i do a clarifying shampoo though :) i have the dove damage repair

Myrna 01-16-2013 05:00 PM

Hi, Jas, you often turn up in my posts! to you and to the others here who posted, do you know which conditioner you were using?

Jas76 01-16-2013 05:26 PM

Mine were the damage repair intensive therapy and the damage therapy nourishing oil treatment.

Both have cones. In fact I haven't seen a dove condish that doesn't.

Myrna 01-16-2013 05:56 PM

Im going home and will check mine carefully, but which cones do yours have?

Jas76 01-16-2013 06:05 PM

Dimethicone and amodimethicone. But they are a couple years old - perhaps things have changed! Let me know, if so!!

Myrna 01-16-2013 06:43 PM

Just got home and checked mine - it has dimethiconol, which I understand is an "OK " cone?

Jas76 01-16-2013 06:45 PM

I think that's water soluble?

Geek_Chic 01-16-2013 07:16 PM

Not water soluble, according to the CurlChemist: What's the Scoop on Silicones?

Myrna 01-16-2013 07:22 PM

Well, I am devastated. It is not water soluble. Unfortunately, my hair looks and feels great today. I guess the verdict is that it may be OK to use some of the time but not all of the time. : (

Jas76 01-16-2013 08:16 PM

You could use it the last wash before you do a clarifying poo or even a low poo with coco betaine!

I made a post on a new Dove conditioner that is cone free. I haven't tried it yet because I wanted their to be reviews first, but since my Tresemme Naturals Conditioner is almost gone, and I want to try a new condish, I think I will test this one out.

Here's the tread I made about it:
