Near miss hair catastrophe!

So this morning I was almost done with my shower routine, scrunching what I thought was CIAB into my hair and getting ready to go into my plop, when I fortuitously noticed that I, in fact, was NOT scrunching CIAB into my hair:

In my defense, it was 5:30am and I wasn't really awake yet, plus the packagings are similar. I'm just glad I saw the mistake before I was dressed and ready to style! My hair got an unexpected low-poo this morning, lol.

How about you? Any near miss catastrophes to share?

Okay, why that photo posted twice is a mystery to me. I guess I'm still not awake!

Wow. I've done stuff like that before. Occasionally with less luck involved. (Don't keep your mentholated shampoo near the Summer's Eve. Just don't. :error:) Glad you caught it in time.

hi rustina! you know, i've made that mistake with those two bottles, they are VERY alike, when checking to see what cj stuff i needed to order. i don't keep ciab in shower as when i do use it it's after i blot my hair, so that is in vanity as shower space is limited. we do tend to just quickly note color, shape and think we've identified something.

here's a family joke we have about this -- when my kids were in elementary school, back in the day, we used white rain shampoo & conditioner. they were same size, shape, color. so one day my son comes out of shower with his hair looking very greasy and i told him it looked like he used the conditioner instead of the shampoo, he had to redo his hair. so he looked at his sister who is 2 1/2 yrs younger and asked her how she knew which bottle to use, (now what makes this funny is that my son has a genius IQ) and she answered, "i read the labels!" but honestly, once we see the color and configuration of a product our mind saves time and uses that to identify it. just like road signs have particular colors/shapes. ok, i got carried away here! :sleepy4:

Ha! That's funny, rbb! I was especially glad I caught the mistake before styling this morning, because I've been experimenting with mousse lately and decided to try mixing CIAB with it to see if it would give me better definition. If I'd not noticed I was using shampoo instead, I probably would have thought my mousse/CIAB combo was a bust and not tried it again. As it is, once I rinsed all the shampoo out and started over with the styling, this time with the right products, I ended up having good hair today. Yay!
