Hard water?

What on Earth can I do about my hard water? My hair does okay with hard water, but it's like I have a whole new head of hair whenever I'm out of town (assuming it's a town with softer water). My hair's thick and baby fine and contains a few pieces that like to pretend to be 2b more often than not (I'm 2c-3a) and the hard water really weighs it down. Is there anything I can use other than a water softener?

I believe there are shower heads you can get that take out the hard water...and i know what you mean, same problem here but i've yet to buy the shower head.

I switched to elucence moisture acidifying shampoo. I have hard water and this stuff works amazingly well in it.

I also have hard water... I am going to look for a shower head filter. I looked on line and I think you can get one around $20 or so?

You know what's strange? My hair goes crazy when I travel to an area with soft water...

I'm not sure what hard water does to my hair since I've lived in it all my life, but my hair loves being clarified with baking soda about once a month.

That might help until you get a filter.

I agree with adding a filter to your shower head...I have hard water and I donít have a filter yet (been meaning to for months now) I do feel that I need to clarify my hair more often..However the wonderful KathyMack mentioned that you need a cleanser with EDTA high on the ingredient list to remove the chemical build up you get from hard water...By using this every 2-4 washes; my hair hasnít looked betterÖ.Almost every time I style, Iím getting consistent resultsÖ.of course I am also trying new stylers, which are amazing..So Iím sure the combo has improved my hair drastically...My hair feels light and full, not coated, heavy with HUGE amounts of frizz...KathyMack also stated a good way to test your hair...Is when its wet, is there noticeable frizz...If so then your hair needs to be clarified with the EDTA product...Hope this helps...good luck

I just found a shower head filter at Lowe's for 18 bucks and it got good reviews.... I am going to get it today and I can report back after using it a bit :)
