Just had my first DevaCut earlier this afternoon! I went to Wendy Sumbera located in Cedar Park, Texas! She was awesome and very informative! Anywho, here's the pics!
First pic was from yesterday
The rest are after the DevaCut.
Love it! More volume, and thicker curls!

I had a deva cut a week ago and I must say so worth the drive.
BEFORE: You can see the ends look kinda weird because I had been growing out my hair and it was cut into a "v" :

Thanks sdkitty! I have been growing it out. Do you think I should go really short? I kind of want to but I'm afraid I'd miss it too much.

not sure what you mean by really short. I think a curly bob can be really cute (chin length or so)
It does take a long time to grow back though

From experience, I'd leave it long if you have any desire for long hair. I've been growing my hair out for 16 years after going crazy short and it just doesn't get past my upper back. I've recently changed things up and I'm hoping for different results after all these years. But I sooooo want long hair and I struggle knowing I may never get it.

I'll probably keep it long and I have heard it can be rather difficult to grow back.
I think that I have finally found my hair twin!! Now we can compare and make suggestions. So excited!!!
I have a piece that flicks out straight sometimes.
Those can be annoying, especially when everything else turns out perfect. Your hair is gorgeous too , and thankyou.

I had my hair cut at Devachan in February, and the cut was definitely curl by curl. FWIW, this was my first Devachan cut, however I've been having Deva cuts for four and a half years.
I was surprised to learn that a cut by a "Junior Stylist" at Devachan was less than a cut by the local stylist who had Deva training (probably the one day course). The real price difference for me was in transportation to NYC, since I could take a train down, then return on the same day. God willing and the creek don't rise, I'll continue to go to Devachan in the future.

I just had my Deva cut today...
I am pleased with the results. I saw Catherine at Merlin's Ultimate Images in NH. The first three are before and the last 2 are after.

I know that this was so long ago, but I hope you ended up liking your cut! I just got it done yesterday myself (first timer as well) and it was the most amazing experience ever! here is before and after

I would also suggest that if you think you will miss your hair, don't do it. I was almost at the point where I hated my long hair, and so I cut it and I'm happy. I don't think I will ever want to grow it out again. To me long hair = a lot of work, long drying time, getting caught under elbows when sleeping, etc. if you feel this kind of hostility towards your long hair AND think it doesn't even look good, then cut it lol.

Samantha - your hair looks great!
I just got back from my first Deva Cut, and I went to the same person as Pixar up there I also posted this on my own thread, but figured I'd post here as well. I had a good time getting my hair done today, and I learned a lot. I really liked Wendy. She decided to keep most of the length as she said it was healthy. She took off about an inch of length and fixed my layers and bangs. She used deva low poo, one c, and the volumizing foam, clipped my hair, put me under the dryer for a little while, diffused, and finished it up with a little of the deva hairspray (I didn't catch the name, but it was an aerosol).
I could have used some gel, but I'm happy with it. I feel like it looks shinier (even though it doesn't look it in the photo) and it feels better. The first pic is this morning before I left, looking all funky and the second two are when I got home (after walking around for a little while, and of course it was windy out...)

Thank you! Yours is LOVELY as well. I am glad u had a good experience seeing as its nerve wracking before it occurs. I think, along with curl definition, you notice how much better is it when detangling and other factors
