Other than a pineapple? Or bonnet?

I've been unable to get that 2nd day hair yet, and it's frustrating! It's just so dry by next day, so I was thinking, is there something people do that makes it last over night?
I sleep on a satin case.

As for sleeping routines, I'm not sure if I'm imagining it, but when I tried to pineapple those few times I felt like the weight of my hair on my head was really annoying to the point of distraction. Also the scrunchie kept coming off but if I tried to tie it twice around it would leave an annoying dent. So now I just sleep with my hair fanned out around my head as I always did. But I almost always have to restyle in the morning. Doesn't take too long but still. Also I sometimes have to fix flat spots if I've rolled over onto my side while I slept. I know what you mean about the dryness too. I can get third day hair as well as second but my hair gets very dry from not having been conditioned on the fourth morning or the third evening when I go to wash it. I usually go one day on and one day off. What are you doing to restyle your hair in the morning? Is it too dry to detangle or. . .?

(P.S. I've been tinkering with your advice about the curl smoothie. I think it's working for me as a base before my curling custard. I just need to make my FSG now because I believe that's the missing ingredient. This weekend then. And my apologies for curlstalking you yet again. )

I found this little trick by accident. I was making FSG and had just a handful that wouldn't fit into the bottle, so I scrunched it in dry hair. Next morning: fabulous, moisturized curls! Now, before bed, I gently rake through either FSG or KCCC and let it dry, pineapple, zzzzzzz. The next morning I rake in a little more KCCC and a bit of light gel. HTH!

My best advice is to either wash and style your hair in the afternoon/evening before you go to sleep (or just re-wet and style) and use strong hold gel. Then DON'T SOTC once your hair dries!

It takes all the willpower I have to not scrunch out that crunch, but I find if I leave it and then pineapple or put my hair in a satin bonnet, by the morning the gel cast/crunch is gone and my curls are still (mostly) frizz-free. I believe the gel cast keeps my curls in tact and somewhat protected from frizz while I sleep.

Also a silk or satin pillowcase is a must for sleeping if I'm trying to keep my curls intact. Even if I pineapple but sleep on a cotton pillowcase, my hair is a wreck the next morning.

i try to most nights, but for same reason i dont always get around too it. any way, i shower so that i can go into bed with damp hair after i applie my condish and oil, if i dont wash at night, then i put condish n oil on dry hair and go to bed with it like that, i pinapple at night.

my hair: 3c, high porosity, high density and coarse hair (i think i finally figured that all out)
my hair loves conditioner only styling!
my hair goal length is bra strap length when curly.

I also blog about my hair journey, please feel free to read and comment/ask questions http://www.naturallycurly.com/blogs/...air-blogs/2494
