Who's tried Sugragel??

When I read this article, I was really anxious to try this new ingredient.

Sucragel: A Sweet Addition to Natural Hair Products

Of course, I had to get it. I got the Sugragel AOF It's made from sweet almond oil, glycerin, water and sucrose laurate.

I added a little to my FSG. I've used it twice. Despite the -6 dewpoint and the fact it has glycerin--I had the best hair every. Nice tight curls, volume and barely any frizz. Used it again yesterday in the snow/sleet/rain and I have to say that my hair really held up and looked great.

I've tried to find products that contain it, but haven't so far. Has anyone used anything?? what do you think??

Kathy, the effect this sucragel is similar to agave nectar?

Did you find it to buy online?...

I didn't find it at all like agave nectar. I really can't compare it to anything else. It is an emulsifier with other properties.

In US, you can't buy it in smaller quantities, at this time. Possibly, in England.

Curl Chemist mentioned that some Burt's Bees products contain it. I don't use "drugstore" products, so haven't really looked for it.

I'm interested. I found to buy in an UK website, but I found it expensive, mainly because still has international shipping costs.

Just had to add more about this ingredient. Today, I added it to the Queen Helene Curl Cream product--that's gelatinous. I added a little to about an ounce and stirred. Used it as my li/curl enhancer with AIA Curling Jelly on top. Have to say that my hair ended up as perfect as it gets, LOL! Tight curls, volume and almost no frizz..

It's interesting, I just checked the frizz forecast--dewpoint 27, humidity 86% and it told me to stay away from glycerin. Both products and the Sugragel AOF have glycerin. Doesn't seem to make a difference!

Thanks for the article! I still love this stuff. I add it to my FSG and sometimes other products. My hair needs variety, so I try not to over do it--only let myself use it twice a week. My hair is always great, no matter the dewpoint, when I do.
