i'd been seeing these things called loc socs on youtube lately. and the product junkie/multi-day hair quester in me bought some. they are pricey but i think worth it. my hair is protected when i sleep and not stretched out. still haven't figured out how to keep my hair moisturized though. just like jas76, looks okay but feels like hay.
i purchased from Shades of Color “Loc Soc”.

Thanks so much for that link I'm definitely going to purchase a Loc Soc so I can sleep with my hair completely out of the way Loved some of those creative day-time styles too (cute and practical) so I look forward to trying those out on my curls.
I did laugh at the one vid where the lady layers three of the Socs on her head (for the "Crown style") ... Was imagining how big my headache would be after all that excess fabric hugged all my hair piled up on my head. Still, she looked gorgeous in that style and could probably get away with wearing anything on her head lol
Good luck with your quest to keep the moisture in your hair. It does look very pretty.

That may be a very good point. I have fine hair & I'm pretty sure it's elasticity sucks. I can't put it up & expect to be able to take it down again. Ponytail dent from hell.

I just can't get second day hair. I cut two knots out of my hair, and heard plenty snapping while gently brushing with my imitation TT and detangling spray, today. Despite tying my hair back last night, it was still very knotty, and looked so frizzy and messy. Plus the curls were really deformed. I just can't get second day hair :'(
This is 1st day hair, and this is how messy my hair gets. And the tangles hiding in there are horrendous.
Which I don't mind, but you can see how frizzy it gets, and the knots are ridiculous.
I have fine hair, so perhaps that's a contributer.

I have been having the same "messy" hair issues on Day 2 but I have to say, I tried cones and like peeps have been saying - it does make a difference. I used CJ Coffee Coco Curl Creme, which has the washable cones. And I kept my clumps into Day 2 and 3. If I use the "really" all natural products, my clumps break up pretty easily.
I only had a sample size of the CJ Creme so I am back to messy Day 2 hair. I am debating whether I buy more of that or try a drug store cone item.

Ur hair is beautiful! I would give anything to have hair like that. For me, forget second day hair. My hair is already crap within a few hours!

Do you seal your hair?
Have you tried smoothing the curls with a light oil? Rub oil on your palms/fingers and smoothe the canopy with your palms, and twist the clumps/curls back into place. (You can even try that 2nd step with some watery condish).
Your curls are lovely!! I don't think it looks as bad as you think!

I got TRUE 2nd day hair today. I took it out of the pineapple and Ta da! That's it. It looks great. Nothing added, not even a spritz. Nothing. YEAH!

Really??? I may have to try a pineapple again. It never works for me, tho.

Thank you! This isn't second day hair, though. This is by the end of the day!

I don't use products, and even the tiniest bit of oil makes my curls stringy and greasy. Also, touching my hair at all while wet/damp messes the curls up.
And thank you so much! I don't mind it, but trust me, the 2nd day hair is another story. This picture is end of day 1st day hair!
