Does anybody have any tips for more even product distribution?
I always seem to miss the mark. Especially when it comes to the back of my head. I have these layers there that were really cute when I wore my hair straight but thanks to curl shrinkage now they are out of reach. They're also extra extra dry. Same with this one spot on the left side of my head and towards the back right. I try and add extra product every time but oh my goodness it is frustrating. Can never seem to get it completely right.

A light supersoak in between products seems to help me out?

I think I was intimidated by this supersoaker business before but I'll give it a shot now. Especially after today. I tried raking my products in again (I know, I know, I should know better by now) and my hair is huge today. People asked me if it grew. I'm all, yes, yes it did. Overnight. From left to right. I think with all the clumping I've had going on these past two months since I went CG I almost forgot how big my hair really is.

I was also scared, scared of rinsing away too much product...but I now supersoak by quickly waving my hair under the shower head for 3 seconds. Give it a shot!

I tried full blown super soaker and it seemed to loosen my curl, although the clumps were great
I modified it first by just getting my hair a little extra wet after my leave in and squeezing the excess out. I just wet my hands and ran them over my scalp then kind of swiped it through, that worked pretty well. I forgot to do that tonight though so after my products I wet my hands, shook them off a bit and scrunched the water left on them into my hair a few times until clumps formed. I did not 'soak' my hair, I got about the same amount of clumping and curl as my first modification and I think adding the water at the end is better for getting those strays and oddballs to get into a group. . I get smaller clumps this way than regular super soaker but better waves and my hair doesn't take as long to dry.

For more even product distribution why don't you try applying the product in sections using clips to help separate. When I do this I always get all the back sections.

I'm trying but most days I don't have patience. I just got some extra layers all around (lots of short ones) and believe it or not it's helping with product distribution all around so far because my hair isn't so dense. For the back I got these big jaw clips at the salon so I'm going to try styling them separately tomorrow. Part my hair into two in the front and two in the back. I might try raking products in and then minisoaking afterwards just there. Now that my hair is less dense because of the layers it shouldn't be able to explode on me again right? Oh we'll see. I'll update if it works out. Keep the tips coming guys!

Applying in sections is very helpful. I cant do the super soaker, my hair needs too much product and it just gets poofy.

Okay so today I wound up dividing my hair into three sections actually because four felt like overkill once I saw it wet. I left this sizable the back chunk out on its own and ran extra leave in over it (because that area is so dry), extra curl cream and an extra layer of gel. I won't be able to tell until my hair is completely dry but my hair feels much more even already. Although a lot of this might due to the wonderful cascading layers my hairstylist put in earlier this week. It's so nice. My hair no longer has pyramid like tendencies and it feels like half the hair it was even though it doesn't look it. I didn't need nearly as much conditioner too! And I like that the length is shorter even though the layers were designed to be grown out. I can only assume it'll get better in time. Either way it was much easier to style, my hair felt much healthier (I guess because she cut out the dry and damaged bits) and its absorbing product easier. I think I will go pick up a denman brush, Laura Lee, now that you say they're at Sally's. I'm very curious about them and how a brush of all things might encourage clumps!

This is exactly what I do, and it makes all the difference in how my hair looks, and how long it lasts.
