Protein-HEAVY RO recs?
GASP! I know, what a shock — I think my hair actually LIKES protein! Makes sense, as I would have always said my curls are 'weak' (easily pulled out, flossy before i started CG) so maybe they need more strength! I've done protein treatments the past two times i've washed my hair by using GVP Joico K-Pak and have yet to OD. Instead, my hair keeps getting curlier!
I'm looking for two things in essence:
1. something to replace the K-Pak because I'm almost out and would have to take the train to get to Sally's. Aint nobody got time for that!
2. Alternatively/in conjunction, a daily RO/ LI (I don't ever rinse out all of my RO currently) with some protein in it. I have some frizz problems because of the super low dews and high winds in Chicago right now, so my ROs aren't working as well as I'd like. Tried TN for a while, but it's not thick enough to tame my frizzies, so I went back to L'Oreal EverSleek and that's fine but I'm out of it and it's expensive so I'm open to alternatives.
I need something that's either available at CVS, Whole Foods, or Jewel Osco, preferrably CVS. I'm a broke college student too so not too expensive! (-coughwholefoodscough-)
All of my relevant info should be in my signature but if there's anything else, let me know! Thanks in advance!

Hmm... Well, if you can find it in a drugstore (many people have found it there, but I was unable to in my area), Renpure Organics has a new keratin condish. It's actually called "straightening", but it doesn't cause any curl loss, so don't worry!
Shea Moisture has a decent amount of protein.
I was about to suggest GVP Kpac or Ion reconstructor, but those are both at Sally's - duh! Tho Sally's website of course can deliver to you! Shipping is $6, I think.
My hair LOVES protein, and those are the 4 I use. Only the SM or the Renpure are at the stores. :/
Have you tried the gelatin PT?? It's amazing and WAAAAY cheap!

Okay, I'm not American and I do not know these stores you mentioned, but I HAD to mention this conditioner:
EO Products, Keratin Conditioner, Sulfate Free, Coconut & Hibiscus, 8.4 fl oz (250 ml) - iHerb.com
It's from EO (maybe it is available in one of your stores?!) and it's incredibly protein rich! It's also rich with awesome oils etc! My hair freaking LOOOOOVES this stuff!!!! It's amazing!
If you're going to order anyway there's a discount code in my signature for 5 or 10 dollar discount. Also iherb has really cheap shipping costs

Such a timely post for me! I have been under the wrong impression that I was protein sensitive, but I have been thinking I need some protein so I tried the gelatin PT yesterday with fair results. Perhaps that type of protein did not work well for my hair. BUT, I had expected that my hair would get tangly and stawlike but surprise it DIDN'T!
My canopy curls still had a bit of frizz, but the rest of my curls were even more springy than normal. So, I went out to Sally's and bought their GVP version of Joico KPac. Again, I was nervous of tangling, but it didn't. My hair is plopping now, so we'll see how it comes out later. I'll try to post a pic if it looks good.
