Default Hair changing type?

Is this possible? When my hair was short it was 3c very tight coils but now that is has grown 4 inches it is much looser and more spirally and looks like 3B hair.

I know that when my hair was short like really close to my head my hair was straight. as it grew out it would start to curl up. now my curls are not as tight as they use to be when I was younger. now I do henna my hair a lot and now my curls are getting looser which I knew that would happen but everything else before the henna was on it's own.

so what I am saying is my texture did change on it's own over the years. But my hair was always a 3 type.

Yeah I think your curl pattern can definitely change. It can happen because your hair is weighed down (most likely your case) or due to hormonal changes.

The shorter my hair is the curlier it gets. I think it's normal.

Agreed with Aqua_Lily. I think it just has to do with your hair being weighed down by the new growth. Same thing happens with mine. I just cut off like 5 inches today so tomorrow I'm expecting it to be a bit curlier

Thanks for the response but I washed my hair and noticed that my hair is very tangling and shedding a lot. I find that the dyed portion of my hair is the looser part. I think my hair is damaged. Now the damaged curl looks pretty but I think this is the cause of the type change. Now I'm not 100% sure, but its plausible. I came to the conclusion when I ran my fingers through my hair and it always gets stuck or feels knotted when the colored part begins.

I had my hair bleached and colored last month and it was a HUGE mistake. Totally killed my hair and had to cut those parts off, so that def could be it

With short layers, my hair is 3b/c (I like that best), the longer hair is 3a/b. Length can totally make a difference in curl size.
