V05 or other less $ conditioners as leave in
I've been using the Deva One C as a leave in under the Deva ultra defining gel and love the results! However, as most of us know it is expensive especially since I use a TON of one C. I love my hair to be weighed down, so I was wondering if a cheaper conditioner would work for me, and since it's cheap I could go wild. I figured since I like weighed down hair? Any suggestions? Even something to rotate with the Deva to extend the life of the bottle! Thanks!!

Best suggestion I've heard is GVP conditioning Balm from Sally's. it's around $5 for a decent sized bottle - 12oz at least. (If there's not a Sally's near you you can order it through their website.)
Vo5 condish I've used and loved is the Shea Cashmere, but I can't say it compares to OneC.

Thanks! I know, I probably won't match the One C, I just love it!! I have the GVP and wasn't thrilled with it as a leave in but I don't think I used enough. I really like to weigh it down which is opposite of most.

I also like my hair to be a little weighed down, and I rotate with Tresemme Naturals and the GVPCB as leave-ins. The TN is so cheap (like $4 for a big bottle) that I find I can use a LOT and it works well in my hair. I've also heard that the Nourishing Moisture one is similar to One C.

You might try adding a little oil.
Also, I am a huge SM fan. I've yet to try the smoothie, but I hear it can weigh some people down, so maybe you'd like it. A lot of people use it as a LI/curl cream, some even as a DT bc it's so rich!

Thanks, I think I'll give the GVPCB a shot again and use more since I have some. I do see the Tresemme everywhere in the stores!!

I like GVPCB as a leave-in (typically I don't even use any product over it, just the conditioner) and I find it the perfect weight for my fine/medium hair, but if I want to weigh it down more, I use the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk. At $10, that might be more than you want to spend, but it's cheaper than Deva.

Another cheap leave in and that also serves as a curl definer gel is aloe Vera gel mixed with jojoba oil. Proportion is 3 parts avg and 1 part jojoba. I use an entire 3 tbsp of avg mixed with 1 tbsp jojoba oil. You can also use other light oils like almond and grapeseed. I also like to add 11/2 tsp glycerin; it renders the gel 100% crunch free. Without it there is a minimal amount of crunch.
