hair really hates low poos - what can I use?
Tried the deva low poos and my hair just felt gunky. I just bought a bottle of CJ shampoo and I guess it is detergent free (it doesn't foam at all) and my hair feels heavy the next day and is stringy.
I just washed my hair yesterday with Ouidad water works and I had great hair today. What other shampoo would be gentle enough to use that is not low poo and not filled with oils or silicones? I'm sad my hair didn't like the CJ - I had high hopes.

Aqua_lily recommended Nature's Gate Chamomile (they make a variety however) Shampoo. It's supposed to be very gentle. I just bought some and am planning to send it to my friend who's a fine haired wavie. For myself I like Shea Moisture's low poos. Very light foam, non drying. I low poo once a week.

Yes I use Nature's Gate Chamomile replenishing shampoo. It does foam a little but it is very gentle, definitely a low-poo and does not by far dry my hair out like a sulfate shampoo.
Maybe there is an ingredient in those shampoos that your hair doesn't like?? The Curl Junkie shampoo has a protein. Are you protein sensitive? Keep in mind that the Nature's Gate chamomile shampoo has proteins as well, and I think the other NG shampoos do too.
Also, I think it has oils, too, but that's actually rather important, if your hair is easily dried out by low-poos you should compensate by moisturizing and nourishing it properly at the same time.

I use the gold label Shea Moisture. My hair feels stripped with everything, but that.

My hair gets gunky, oily looking with low poos. When I use a sulfate shampoo I get nice hair days. So... maybe the natures gate isn't the right one for me?? I guess I need a "gentle" sulfate shampoo. Anyone know of any? I'm only wheat sensitive. My hair will turn to straw after repeated uses. I used to love Ouidad shampoo but after a couple of weeks my hair was literally like straw

Darby, my mom's a wavie who doesn't want to give up her sulfates and I got her the tresemme naturals lower sulfate content shampoo. Comes in a black bottle I think. Haven't tried it myself because I keep away from the sulfates but its working well for her. Why don't you try it? It's so cheap. Not sure if it has wheat in it though.
