Curl trigger + recoil = my HG??
Finally after years of searching and buying, I found what I think might be my combo I'm hesistant to declare them my outright holy grails because I've been fooled in the past with other products but I'm so excited! I had to share with my fellow curlies I used AG conditioner today, then after I got out of the shower I used re:coil and then flipped over and sprayed curl trigger a few times (about 5) in my hair and then plopped. I used both because recoil makes my curls defined but frizzy while curl trigger gives hold and frizz control but not as much curl definition (careful though too much makes for hard hair) and after diffusing a bit I got these results! So happy today!

Ooh, looks beautiful! My hair didn't care for re:coil, but I have to admit I've been eyeing Curl Trigger (& Beach Bomb, to a lesser extent).
And just to up the ante, Ulta has a B2G1 on AG styling products. What to do, what to do ...

The curl trigger definitely has more hold then the re coil. And it's not as oily. The curl trigger I got from Ulta with a coupon for $3.50 that the sales woman gave me and the conditioner I got online (a liter) size for $22 :-) so glad I took the risk and got them. Finally, after years of looking lol

Thanks guys! I like the way the curl trigger smells a lot more than the conditioner or recoil. Am I the only one who thinks they smell soapy? But not a good soapy

I actually like the smell of the AG re:coil conditioner, more of a fresh scent. The curl activator, OTOH, had a chemical smell to it which I did not care for. I would have continued to use it anyway if it had worked for my hair, but it felt heavy no matter how little I used and did nothing for my frizz. I don't know if it was the mag sulfate or the polyquats (or both) but it was not for me. Looking over the Curl Trigger ingredients, I see that it has them too, so I wonder if I'd have the same issues
FYI, Ulta has a huge annual liter sale around July. I was able to get liters of AG recoil poo and condish for $14.99 each, minus the $3.50 coupon - $100 worth for $23! There's also a website, Beauty Brands: Beauty, Skincare, Makeup, Hair, Nails, Salon and Spa, that also has a huge liter sale timed to coincide with Ulta's, So you should have no problem stocking up inexpensively

Hmm well at least Ulta has a good return policy in case u decide to try the curl trigger. And uea the recoil curl activator can be heavy and didn't help my frizz either. Weird that it works with the trigger. I hate that the smell of the activator is so strong that i smell it through the bottle. the bottle itself stinks to me. But, thankfully the trigger can mask the smell. Did u like the conditioner? Also, thanks so much for the info on the sale! I hope they do it this year too. I can't wait!

Jas, you're not alone in your temptation. Skorpio and HouseofCurls are wearing down my resistance!
The reviews are great, if only it was a bigger bottle or a smaller price. But who's kidding who - it's just a matter of time before I find myself in Ulta to track this down

I know, the price is CRAZY! I bought it at Ulta, with a coupon, but I am hoping I can just purchase it when I have coupons. It's crazy it's $20 for that small bottle. ugh. BUT, it's amazing.

Okay, I tried it yesterday and I got great curl formation, but I also ended up a little too dry for my taste by the end of the day. I think it's a great product, and I'm gonna give it another go, but if it doesn't work out, I'll sell it to any of you ladies for half price, $10 (even though I've only used a few squirts). So you'd better start hoping I hate it again. Lmao!

Yes, I used the Giovanni leave in. Could you recommend a different one? I really want it to work; it seems like a cool product! I can't use KCKT, but I'm open to any other leave ins!
