How to get curls on back of head?
 

My hair is nice and curly in the front, and midway on the back the curls start, but the top half of my hair behind my head is barely wavy. Any suggestions how to get it curly like the rest of my hair? I feel like it looks weird, even though I doubt anyone but me notices. I have a theory that when I apply my products I'm just not getting that area, so I'll see tomorrow if That's the issue. I part my hair in two (its fine, so I don't need more), so maybe I don't realize that I'm not getting the back as much as the rest. Suggestions are appreciated nonetheless

I SECOND THIS QUESTION!!!! this is a big problem for me.... curly and short in the front and long+ wavy in the back... :\ is it the length dragging it down?!:sad1:

For me, the length "drags it down." Just got my hair cut to my shoulders, and it was way curlier. My hair is growing fast due to it being fairly healthy. So far, the curls are not being weighed down and dragged out, so I'm hoping for it to continue that way. So for me, a hair cut was my 'solution.' I realize that's probably not an option for everyone, though.

If your curl pattern isn't as strong as say a 3b or 3c, I think it is normal for it to get dragged down a little. Maybe the first few inches from the scalp. You might think it looks weird Skorpio but your hair has looked really beautiful in all of the pictures you've posted so far. I just got a haircut yesterday and I got cascading layers on the back and a three inch chop all around so my head feels much lighter and my hair has more bounce. I can't wait to experiment some more, although I most likely will grow it out longer again.

Thank u dusalocks! That's so kind of you :) my hair is curlier too now that I cut off about 5 inches. My friend said she knows someone who can give me layers, so I think I'm gonna try it. I'm hoping it'll help. I'm willing to have shorter hair for more curls, just not above the shoulders. My head is too big for it! Lol here I am worrying about my hair when I should be deciding on a grad school to attend :-P smh

I love my layers so much. My hair was so dense that it was making it difficult to distribute product. (That on top of my high porosity!) The best part is that they are designed to grow into so they'll only get better, I think. Once my hair reaches my breasts again I'll be very happy, even if it's less curly up top. :sunny:
