Hi all, I'm still learning what works best for me and have been sulfate free for about 5-6wks now.

I started with RenPure but hated that it didn't have enough moisture so I started SM C&H Curl wash a week ago and love the change. I also picked up As I Am Coconut Cowash yesterday and love that it seems to add even more moisture (still dry roots though).

I know a cowash cleanses, but should you keep them separate, or can you low-poo followed by a cowash? I'm a little scared to completely break away from shampoo but am okay going a few days without.

I'm trying to only add something new weekly so I can immediately tell if I get something that my hair doesn't agree with (no styling products yet other than SM C&H leave-in).

I use Devacurl Low-poo once a week.
Just to make sure my scalp is clean.

And you can co-wash, and then low-poo afterwards. Or co-wash and then follow up with the same conditioner if you want.
When I Co-wash....I use suave naturals coconut....then use Devacurl One conditioner.

What is SM C&H?

I low-poo about once every two weeks.

But really, isn't it kind of pointless to wash with a low-poo AND co-wash during the same routine? All a co-wash does is cleansing. If you've already cleansed with a low-poo then a co-wash becomes rather pointless and wasteful to use...
And if you can get your scalp clean with a co-wash, then a low-poo would be unnecessary for that time, too...

I tried just a cowash today with As I Am Coconut Cowash and my curls seem looser. Maybe it's too heavy of a product? I didn't know it was capable to find a too heavy product for my hair to be honest.

I'll give it a week and see if there is change because I don't want to flip products too quickly. I'll ask my husband to hide the shampoo too and see if I can make it the week on just cowash.

I also finger detangled today and never thought I was the least bit tender headed. It hurt but I survived.

I think you just have to listen to your hair. You can do that if you want to.

Most people cowash and then will use a lo-poo when they feel like they're getting too much build up.

I don't think there's anything wrong with lopooing and then cowashing.
