Default Curl Size Discrepancy

So this is kind of a superficial "issue" but well...it's on my mind. Does anyone have really obvious curls size differences? I'm transitioning, I've cut the relaxer off many areas though and some of the patterns kind of freak me out, they're so different.

I attached an example of teeny/long S-shaped hair. I have the same issue with O-shapes (very small and large Os).

Has anyone experienced something similar? Do you still do WnGs?

Don't worry, everyone has different curl patterns on their head. Once you are natural it will all blend together well. The front of my hair is very loose s-curls and the back is tighter o-shaped spirals but it doesn't look weird it matches perfectly.

I know our patterns can vary, I think in general my hair seems to be the size of pens and markers (which isn't so bad, they're close enough) but the extremes kind of stun me. I can't imagine how a WnG might look with the differences in apparent length and style, but maybe it will indeed come together in the end. Sigh... thanks curlies.

Mine are the size of big highlighter markers or chalk but around the neck they're the size of pens and at the crown they are strong s-waves. You are not alone. Curly hair never seems to want to make up its mind.

Like Dusalocks wrote...you are so not alone! On the lower back part of my head I have sharpie to chalk size ringlets/sprirals. On the back of my crown, I have sharpie size ringlets. On my sides I have sharpie to chalk size ringlets and spirale and on my crown s-shaped to loose sharpie to chalk sized ringlets.

I have noticed that the longer I follow the CG method, I am getting more and more ringlets.

And so how does it all actually come together? Do the smaller curls end up hiding underneath he longer ones? I know I can just manipulate the hair by braiding it (giving it a shape) and I'm doing that now as I'm transitioning, but I'm definitely a WnG girl...I can't braid forever.

I'm thinking it'll take years for my coffee-straw sized hair to show any significant length, so I'm guessing they'll just not show for a long time? The amusing thing is that the tiny curl pictured is actually a bit longer than he other one. Who knew curly hair had jokes...lol.

Curly hair is such a tease! Not sure how it "comes together" for tighter curl patterns but for me layers helped a little. I got them shorter on top. My hairdresser also told me the hair on top (or my top "layer") was dryer and coarser in general. Maybe from my styling it straight. You know you pay more attention to straightening the top than the bottom. So getting rid of some of that that evened out my curl pattern somewhat. But I still wish the rest of my hair would do what my underlayers do. I think I'll have to wait and grow it out and see how my hair changes over time. I've also found it's getting curlier and ringlet-ier the longer I do my CG thing. Yesterday I woke up with some crazy root curl which I've never had before without taking the time to clip while air drying which I typically don't do.. It's a shame I had to mess up the rootcurl by rewetting/styling my hair because it got so messy while I slept.

My hair is weird and I still do my wash n gos.

I've heard, well read, lots of curlies saying they can be like a 4a all over... But there is this one patch of like 3b curls on their head! Drives them NUTS!

Good thing is no one notices it like we do. To everyone else it just looks like wonderfully curly hair.
