Default how often do you do deep conditioning treatment?

I feel like I should do deep conditioning monthly but I'm lazy and only do it maybe every 2-3 months.
How often do you do it? Is it worth the trouble? Or do you feel you get a nice result initally but not really a lasting effect?
When I do it, I wash, condition with regular conditioner, wrap in towel then put the deep conditoner in and put a shower cap on for 30 minutes or so, hitting with hair dryer a few times.

your routine sounds like a deep treatment just with very little heat. i think the heat makes the difference, it opens the cuticle and the conditioner can then get in.
i also am lazy and have not deep conditioned in quite a while. the other night i washed my hair, put in deep treatment, plastic cap, heated turban wrap. after about 45 minutes i took off heated turban, plastic cap, and just toweled then air dried my hair with all the deep conditioner in, slept like that. the next morning i rinsed it out, added leave in, and had the most amazing hair -- very soft and very curly. made me see i needed to make more of an effort to do it with heat more often.

Depends on how you define "deep conditioner." These last few days I've been poo'ing/co-washing at night and then slathering on a thick/heavy conditioner (like the SM conditioners), which I leave on overnight and cold-rinse away in the morning. Good results so far!
