SuperSoaker Question

I am having issues with the SuperSoaker method. The stuff I use, while it works great for my hair, doesn't work for my skin.
Getting the products dripped onto my face is wreaking havoc with my skin....rosacea flare ups.
To those of you who supersoak...how do you avoid stuff dripping on your skin?
Yeah, this is why I don't do it. :/

Could you try supersoaking, then wipe your skin down after you get your hair into the plop?

For me all that slopping wet hair on my face and back would cause breakouts, but also I just can't stand the feeling!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I don't like the way it feels either. As soon as the water/product hits my skin I start itching, getting red. It's not pretty!
I guess the sensible thing to do is stop using that method.
On to more trial and error......
I don't like it because it's messy, although most of the products that I use are fairly natural and don't irritate my skin. I think my hair does better with products that are more natural anyways. I know this isn't true of everyone but my hair has flourished thanks to more natural products. I've been trying to make Aussie Instant Freeze, my lone cheap drugstore gel, work for two weeks now and I can't crack it. It just makes my hair feel like plastic. Also I can't stand the feel of my hair against my skin when I use it. The argan ecostyler made my hair very dry when I'd go to wash it, but it never made it as synthetic feeling for some reason. Also the crunch wasn't as strong. I think it's because the ingredients are more natural.

I do a version of supersoaking, I guess... But I've altered to be not as messy.

I leave in some condish in the shower, comb my hair out, then go back and loosen the roots so it's not so flat. Then I run the water back over the lower half of my hair, then finger comb and scrunch. I get big clumps! (I should mention my head is upright but tilted forward, and my hair is in front of my shoulders.)

I used to put gel in before the rinse and finger comb, but I've found I don't need to. I can just do it with condish and then add the gel afterwards while it's still soaking wet as barely dripping.

Hope that makes sense!

After I wash and condition my hair, I put a big blob of leave-in conditioner in my hair (that's pretty much all I use), bigger than normal, make sure it's well dispersed, separate my hair with my fingers and sort of tip my head back under the shower spray very quickly so my hair gets wet and clumps. My head is tipped so not much product gets on my forehead. Then I wash my face.

I get out of the shower, blot my hair with a flour sack towel and sit under a hooded dryer for about 10 minutes. When my hair is drier, I separate the curls that got too clumped. That's it. It works well.

It's the last thing I do and I keep my head upside down from when I put the water in, to when I get it into the plop (or scrunch, as I do now, since my hair's a little short to plop at the moment).

It's a lot less fun when I'm sick and already dizzy.... like now.
See, I cannot do the upside down head thing. I don't flip it over until right when I'm about to plop. It hurts my neck and sinuses way too much!

Yes, I realize a quick skim in the shower after you put in leave in isn't as messy. It's just the full on, head in the sink super soaker that's way too much trouble for me.

Huh Jas I really like the idea of putting water on the lower half so that the force of the shower head won't flatten the roots. I'll have to try that. Thanks!
