Body lotion as leave-in conditioner?

What do you guys think? I'm thinking of using SM baby lotion and raw shea body lotion as LI...anyone try this?

I haven't tried it, but I hear the ingredients are very similar.

That's the biggest thing - check the ingredients! And you might try a test area first.

Hmm, the ingredients look ok, very very similar to ingredients in their hair products, I think? (I don't know of any problems my hair has with any common hair product ingredients, btw)

I would be wary of putting, say, Suave or SoftSoap lotion in my hair, of course!

Give it a shot then! I would still probably try it on a test chunk first. At least be wary of the amount - good chance it's thicker or more concentrated. You may even need to dilute it a bit.

Let us know how it goes! Maybe you'll find an HG!

Also, while I was looking up SM ingrediants, I saw that, at least on Walgreens's site, the SM body butters contain...Cocoamidopropyl Betaine????

Hmm... Idk. I would doubt it, just based on the thickness if it!

I know some lotions use it as a preservative? Idk!

Ooooo! I see! I had no idea lol I'm still so new at all of this. Very odd though, for it to be so high up on the list! Maybe I should email the company...

So I used the baby lotion as my leave-in with meh results :/ ah well!
