Default Pregnant curly, hair breaking?

I'm normally a 3b (fine, medium density, low porosity), but while pregnant, my hair has suddenly gotten to be thicker, softer 3a hair. This is s fun change, no complaints. Weirdly, though, I'm noticing a lot of breakage at my nape and across my forehead. Have others experienced this? What should I do? I'm totally CG, never wear a tight pony ... Do I need more protein in addition to winter moisture? Or should I get some long bangs? (Hair is BSL and basically healthy, will need a trim in a month or so.) thanks for your help!!
