Jules, yours are very cute, too!! (Always love your curls!)
Unfortunately I don't know if that style would cover as much of my forehead as I'd like.
But again I think they look fabulous on you!!

jas - I think your fringe issues sound just like mine, I can't do without them but have to straighten as they just don't curl. I have no root curl and the first couple of inches of my hair is almost straight, so my fringe is kind of straight and then just kinks out weirdly, it's so frustrating! I've tried a curling iron too but just couldn't get it to work.

Glad someone feels my pain, though I wish you didn't have the same frustrating issue!!!
I get OK root curl. Sometimes I try to flatten out the first couple inches tho so my bangs will blend better. :/
I have good root curl today, so maybe I'll try curling them tomorrow. (Except I know how that will go, and I'll end up scrapping it.)
Sigh.
I wish there was a magic solution. And I'd love to see how other people with similar hair to mine/ours handle it.
But please put all kids of bang pics on here to help everyone else out, too!!

Thank you 😊 my bangs are long and the days where i scrunch my hair i just scrunch with conditioner after co washing. I used to straighten my bangs and i loved it but now that i am CG i just either let them curl how they want, finger curl them while wet, or twist them and pin them up with a bobby pin. 😄

I came across this today, it's a short little video about how to manipulate your side swept bangs into pretty curls. Curly Care: Styling Curly Side Bangs - YouTube

I straighten the first inch or two of the hair around my face where my fringe 'joins' to help with the blending too.
Sorry but I have a horror of putting my pic on the net.

Yeah... Maybe I just need to play with them more, idk.
I never wear mine completely straight. They always "curve" into the rest of my hair.
Maybe I need to just let them grow a little longer (they are just about the tip of my nose right now) and let them curl up more.
I just know I need my forehead covered. (Can't believe it took me so many years to see that!!!)

Jas, try sweeping your bangs to the side and pinning them in place with bobby pins strategically every inch or so. (You'll probably only need two or three.) And pluck slightly in between the bobby pins to help raise the hair and define the curve. You can use a blowdryer if you want to dry them faster but I let mine airdry. What happens when I release it eventually from the bobby pins is there's this nice wave going on. Curve, curve, curve, and then curly tendril to the side. And it goes without saying to use product to help set it.
Also, I don't think you have a prominent forehead so you don't necessarily need bangs, but everybody likes the sideswept look. I like it too but, practically, it drives me bananas. There's nothing worse than hair in your face and eye when you're trying to drive or read or work, etc. I can keep the last bobby pin in and not let the fringe fall but then I don't have the Veronica Lake thing going on so what's the point?

Thanks, Dusa! I will try to play around with this idea and see if something will work!
Thanks for the forehead kindness - lol! But if you saw my hair pulled back you'd feel differently! Lol!
I have a widow's peak, and my hairline is high at the sides. I kept seeing pics of myself and thinking "OMG. You need to do something about this." Granted, that was when I was straightening more often, and I think that makes it even more apparent, but still.
Maybe in a couple weeks I'll try growing them back out a little and see if I can encourage the curl. Idk.

I know this is a pretty old post, but I figured I would share my bangs anyway. I don't know if I love or even like my bangs, but I have them from before I was wearing my hair curly so I can't really do much about them lol. This was today, not a particularly good bang day (I do have them though), but not the worst either. I let them dry with the rest of my hair and usually end up taking my straightener and just give them a quick straighten upwards and flip down a bit. Like I move them in an arch up and outward/slightly to the side from my face. That leave them with a little bump height, to the side, and slightly curled at the bottom to blend in with my curls/waves. The bulk of my bangs are on the left side. I have very few on the right, and rarely I may straighten them a little too if they are acting weird. But I try to keep those more curly.
here is another where they blended in a little better.

pseudo straighten my bangs. I use a small round brush and dry them 50% before I diffuse the rest of my hair. That way they aren't stick straight. Left to their own devices my bangs are hit and miss. I hate how I look without bangs
