Olive oil does not penetrate the hair shaft! there are only 5 oils in the world with small enough molecular structures to penetrate the hair shaft. Coconut oil is one of them so it is better in the long run. olive oil does however sit on top of the hair shaft reducing frizz and leaving the hair feeling soft.

Do any of you use Jojoba oil to seal?

I do! Also grapeseed, but they work equally well IMO.

I think it works great. I noticed an immediate difference once I started sealing a few weeks ago. My hair just felt more moisturized as they day wore on. Also it contributed to the whole "my hair feels like seaweed" test you do when you put your leave in on. I take some KCKT and mix it with a few drops of jojoba in my palm before I apply it to my hair and I swear it disperses even better and faster. It's a nice, slippy, slick feeling. My hair feels very healthy! Grapeseed works just as well though for sealing. But I've always like jojoba for skin care so it figures my hair would like it too.

Can someone please explain to me what exactly it means to "seal" the hair?

What is the process? When you do you apply? How much? How often? etc. etc.

I've heard a lot about sealing but I can't seem to find anything on technique. I have a huge bottle of grapeseed oil that I'd like to try out, but I'm not sure how to incorporate it into my routine.

I'm pretty sure I have med-high porosity and fine hair.

Thanks!

I love both EVCO & EVOO. I add EVCO to my PT & EVOO to my DC. Both serve a different purpose for my hair. and scalp. Both are greatly needed.
