Hair soaks up all the moisture!!!!!

I cannot keep moisture in my hair. I have type 3B hair and when my hair is wet, I put in a great deal of moisturizer in and a gel/moisturizer. Looks good until it starts to dry...then it becomes a big mess with frizz! If I put in more conditioner in it wet or dry, it still acts like I did nothing to it! I really really want to get away from gel and moose that makes my hair crunchy. I really would love some products that make my hair soft! Is that so much to ask? lol! I need like a specific routine of products that work from the time of washing till it's dry! I would love any help/tips anyone can give! Thanks so much!
Sounds like maybe you are porous?

If so, sealing may really help you.

As far as a product line, I highly recommend Shea Moisture.

I also love Shea Moisture. Talk about moisturizing. Also have you tried kinky curly? I don't like hard hold gels either, or maybe I do but I haven't gotten the hang of them yet. I prefer soft gels, jellies and curl creams to keep my hair both touchably soft and frizz free. Also do you know your properties? Porosity is one thing but also whether or not your strands are fine, medium, or coarse. For instance, if you're coarse and using a lot of protein that can dry out your hair and thereby increase your porosity. That's why your hair may be sucking up moisture and still thirsty. If you're using products with ingredients that you hair and maybe the weather doesn't agree with it can cause frizz. Check out livecurlylivefree.com for more info on properties and the dew point. If you already knew about all that and still are stumped, then give us more info and maybe a curl vet will have a solution. I'm a newbie.

Here's a link to help you determine your hair properties Live Curly Live Free - Curly Hair Basics As the others said, it will really help you choose ingredients/products and techniques that you should use.

As Jas76 suggested, sealing may be for you. There are a lot of threads that discuss sealing, just search for them.

My stylist suggests that one doesn't use mousse. In addition to other ingredients, the propellent can be very drying.

You don't mention what products you are using or what you do for your hair. It's possible that you need to get into a routine where you are regularly doing deep treatments to add extra moisture to your hair.

Gel doesn't have to be crunchy. After your products dry, you can SOTC (scrunch out the crunch.)
