Blowdryers: What's the best bang for your buck?

So I want to buy a new blowdryer because the one I currently have is pretty old school and has a teeny tiny, well, downright stingy diffuser. (I also can't find a compatible bigger diffuser for it.) I got one recommendation but I don't know if I can justify spending $100+ on something I may not use all that often. Which blowdryer do you all use? Anything recommendations under say a $70 pricetag are welcome. I'd like a giant diffuser bowl and it would be nice if the diffuser came with the blow dryer so I didn't have to buy two things but I also want a blowdryer that won't dry out my hair too much or cause it to frizz. Maybe ionic?

I have this blow dryer:
Solia 1875W Thermal Ionic Hair Dryer | Folica.com

I have used it for over a year and I'm very happy with it. I don't have much to compare it to, but I don't have any complaints.

The major downside is it doesn't come with a diffuser. I bought this one:
Solia Universal Double Diffuser | Folica.com

I like it, but it does make the whole setup a little heavy. Which is fine with me, I just consider it some extra toning for my triceps. Also, the diffuser occasionally (1x per week) falls off onto my head and scares me half to death. I think that's my fault though.

Regardless of what you choose, it's worth checking out Folica's recycle program. You can send in any old blow dryer or flat iron (working or broken) and get $40 of your purchase. They also have a 20% tools & accessories sale right now, and I think it's always free shipping on purchases over $50.
Folica.com - The best selection of hair care, flat irons and hair styling products anywhere

(disclaimer: I've posted about Folica's program a couple of times, and I just want to make it clear I'm not a secret Folica spy or something. I just feel like I got a great deal from there, and they don't advertise their trade-in program well!)

ETA: the dryer is ionic. I don’t know how big the diffuser is, I can measure diameter tonight. The diffuser I linked to comes with two parts: one with fingers, and one that’s just a plain bowl.

I have an old really cheap ionic diffuser with a big bowl, it is so old I can't read the maker anymore, ( I think I bought it because it was cheap and my favorite color
I don't buy into the hype of buying expensive blow dryers if I only use it twice a month. The most important thing for me was that it has a cold setting . I always start on warm for a short time and finish cold. I never had any heat damage or spit ends.

i have this one: BabylissPro Nano Titanium Portofino 6600 Hair Dryer | Folica.com

So at $130 with 20% of it'd be $26 off. Solia one would be $18 off the $90 but then I'd have to get a diffuser too, also at 30% off. And then I could get $40 off if I sent in my blow dryer but I'm assuming that'd be at least $8 to ship. . . so many numbers!

I'm looks 104-32 so $72 for the babybliss and 72-32 so $40 and whatever the diffuser would cost for the Solia. Not bad in either way. Maybe I'm just going to have to splurge. I don't want to get a cheap blowdryer that peeters out on me. I like to buy for keeps and I'm assuming I'd only use the blow dryer maybe two times a month like Nikitakev because my hair air dries fast. I just want to experiment with styling it and seeing if I'd be able to achieve root curl or tighter curls minutes the water weight.

Keep the suggestions coming, please!

Something to keep in mind, I don't think you can combine the 20% off with the $40 off deal. Unfortunately but the 20% would probably apply to a diffuser, just not the blow dryer.

I'm eyeing that babyliss dryer though since its smaller and the warranty on it is 4 years. The one I have has a 2 year warranty, which is good. I have had no problems with it. I can't remember what I paid for it now because it was on sale plus I had a coupon code and that's why I splurged, definitely a good investment for me. I use my dryer often, every other day.

I have an older version of this one. It's currently $35 at Drugstore.com. Works fine for me.
My understanding from talking to hairdressers is that one of the reasons they spend a lot on a hair dryer is they use it all day and they wear out. I only wash my hair twice a week so a dryer lasts me years. I usually replace them before they wear out just to try something new.
I'm gonna throw my two cents into this conversation too. I just got the new ionic blow dryer from hot tools that has the option for the handle to rotate and I LOVE it, primarily because I can get the back of my head so much easier and get much better curl in the one spot in the back of my head that doesn't want I cooperate. So its great if anyone is having that same problem. It was like $70 at ulta and has a great sized diffuser. My hair dried faster and a lot less frizzy than with my cheap drugstore dryer.

Mine is a purple and gray Revlon dryer I bought at Target for about $20. It has a snap on diffused of decent size, has an ionic switch (which I just leave on), and has cold, warm, and hot temp choices. I believe it has a cool shot button, too, but I just change the switch between warm and cold as needed and never use it.

I've had it for a few years now, and it seems like it might be starting to wear out, but I think that more bc it hit the floor once (ok, more than once) and the lint screen on the back was damaged and doesn't always stay in, which I think has led to some lint build-up in the motor.

I had this dryer before I was CG, too, so I'm sure there is hairspray and silicone serum caked inside it, as well. Lol!

I'd honestly recommend it! Yes, I'm sure there are far better dryers out there, but it does the job just fine for me!

How does the rotating work? Not that I need a new blow dryer right now, but I admit I'm tempted!

It looks like it's on Folica for cheaper right now. Hot Tools Galaxy Salon Turbo Ionic Dryer | Folica.com

Curlsnswirls - I agree!! The high setting is like a tornado! It's also on the loud side. It's kind of a beast. But I like it

Yes flippacious thats the one I'm talking about, I don't know why they arn't really "advertising" that part because in my opinion that's the best perk of the blow dryer, especially for curlies. Here's a picture of the handle thing: (I have no clue how big this image is so sorry if its huge) Blowdryers: What's the best bang for your buck?-imageuploadedbycurltalk1362156662.256479.jpg

I missed the follica sale! Now it's only 20% on the top ten blowdryers. (One of them is the babybliss.) But this hot tools one I'm so intrigued by isn't in the top ten. The reason I'm intrigued is because of the rotating handle. I also would have a hard time reaching the back of my head. I'm not worried about weight since I'm stronger than I look but I suppose a lighter blow dryer would be nice. I'm keeping the conair infiniti as an option. And Jas, is the purple/grey revlon blowdryer you have the 1875 one because I almost bought it the other day on a whim (it's very popular on amazon) but then I read the reviews and a lot of people have been burned or nearly injured with the thing. Supposedly it just starts sparking and fizzing out maybe 2 years down the line. One woman's reflexes weren't quick enough and it burnt her hair. Reading those reviews convinced me, okay, maybe it's all right to splurge a little on this dryer. But yes the Conair infiniti though I'm going to look into. So many choices! But please I'm willing to consider anything and everything. I won't be impulsive when it comes to my hair now. I'll do my research.
