So yesterday, I checked out the Frizz Forecast for the first time. Said I'd have baby waves and to forget about products with Glycerin. Most of the SM Yucca line lacks Glycerin so I used my normal routine. Then I noticed my hair had a dry feel to it and was pretty frizzy. Read the ingredients on everything I had used and sure enough, The SM Yucca Milk contained the culprit!

Today had the same forecast, so I made sure that the products I used were Glycerin-Free. My hair is noticeably better! Hair feels moisturized and looks great!

So use the Frizz Forecast girls! One routine does not fit all like I had thought before.

Here's some pics to compare. First one is from yesterday. The rest are today.

That's so interesting! I didn't even know it existed. When I checked it, it pretty much said I would have the hair I have today-- not quite as wavy as I want it to be. I will definitely be paying attention. Thanks!

Yes since I found the frizz forecast I always check it before I do my hair!

Somehow it's more accurate than checking dew points on the weather station.

So something's been going on with my hair this week where it's been looking less curly, more wavy. Even my 3B underlayer is getting a little 3Aish. I wasn't sure why because my styling routine hasn't changed. At first I thought I needed some protein to perk my curls up so I tried some mini treatments (like a mayo prepoo and a 3 minute gelatin treatment) and it helped a little, but not a lot. Admittedly I could've left the protein in longer but I was afraid. (I'm coarse and I don't want to dry my hair out.) Then earlier this week I saw my mom who normally has 2B hair unstyled and her hair was like. . . 1B Next to stick straight. I asked her if she'd flat ironed it and she said no, it was just like that and she didn't know why either.

So. . . yeah, I checked out the frizz forecast. Apparently because winter is over and spring/summer is here in Southern California (they really bleed into one another so much that there's no difference), the dew point is lower, there's less moisture in the air overall, and I guess it's just going to a long, dry six months. Especially when you take global warming into account and consider that this summer is definitely going to be hotter than the last. Does this mean I'm going to have 2C hair for half the year? Not that that's a bad thing. . . I love wavy hair as much as I do curly but I really, really love my curls too and was just starting to get used to them since I've only had my routine down for maybe 8 weeks. Is there any way I can maintain my curls year round? What can I do?

I'd say follow the Frizz Forecast. Yesterday it stated that I'd have Baby Waves, but after I used Glycerin-Free products, my hair seemed almost normal. I've just come to accept that my hair will always be a changing animal because of the weather. Lol!

Sounds to me like you need some moisture heavy products. Lots of DT's, etc.

When my hair gets "bleh", I usually do a clarifying wash, then a PT and a DT. It sort of "resets" my hair.

Thanks guys. "Baby waves!" Oh my goodness, how cute. That's sweeter sounding than than "mellow curls". I guess I'm having a baby wavy mellow curly week. I was following the FF a lot when I first started CG and experimenting, but after a while I cut out glycerine and iffy humectants from all my stylers (except the SM smoothie, which only seemed to strengthen my curl pattern) and called it a day. Especially once I figured out how to get my curls back with second and third day hair. I guess I took my hair for granted since it was behaving consistently. . . Now though, I guess I'll have to watch it again. Maybe I'll set the smoothie aside for a while and just use the SM milk to retouch and see if that helps. Also, I can definitely deep treat more often. Or "reset" my hair. Good idea, Jas!

Yesterday was an optimum Waves/Curl day for me, so I decided to do my regular routine with Glycerin. It wasn't too bad, but it didn't seem to be all that different from using my other products that do not contain Glycerin.

So I had my sister take a pic of my hair with Glycerin(1st & 5th pic) and then today was supposed to be another "Baby Wave" day, but my hair actually looks great(pics 2, 3, & 4)! Go figure. Hmmmm.

Also, I'm trying to confirm my curl type. What do you ladies think??

(Found out how to fix the photos...tis why the order is all goofy now.)

YOu have a mix of spirals (3A) and waves.

Yeah, I expect a lot of those waves will turn curlier as time goes on. Weather be damned!

I wasn't expecting the frizz forecast to work for me (I thought it would only work for the US, but it seems to work for Belgium as well so amazed!)

So: what dew points are good (optimal dew point if that exists) and what dew points are bad for curls? And what effect will that have on my hair?
