My haircut is too cute.. Now what?
I had long curly hair with long bangs that I would sweep to the side. I never needed anything in the way of hair accessories. Usually, a pair of colorful earrings completed "my look".
I got my hair cut shorter and I feel like I am having a hair identity crisis. It is a little too cute for my taste and I dont feel like me or know how to add my style back into it (even my earrings dont look right with this hair!). So, I was wondering if anybody has a place they go for inspiration at a time like this. Please share .

Can you post a pic of your old style and your new cut? It might help get you styling recommendations.

Yes, since we don't know what kind of haircut it is or how you look with it. I grew my hair out from a pixie cut years ago and in between I developed lots of inventive ways to make it look cute and presentable so I could totally help. Just not sure about the style/length/kind of bangs. . .

My icon is the new cut, although, it seems to be springing up even shorter today. The cut was yesterday. The attached photo is from last week.

It's still very long and your bangs are still to the side if not outright sideswept. Are you sure you can't rock earrings with this? I'd rock some dangly ones or some hoops. (I love me some hoops.) What is it about it you don't like, the shape or the length? I think it looks really good on you.

Thank you . The bangs are a lot shorter, so when I pin them, instead of having a sweeping effect, it just looks bulky. Haha. The cut is complimentary to my face, but I felt more mysterious and fun with the long hair and now I feel, like I said, "cutesy". A look Im not sure what to do with. I havent tried all my earrings, but it seems to me that the length of the dangly ones now compete with my hair length. So, i may have to work with dome shorter earring styles.

Okay, I've thought on it and if you accessorize your ears you can definitely accessorize your hair. If my hair was shorter length again I'd want to make the most of it. I'm talking sparkly head/fore bands, jeweled pieces at the temple and above the ear, and anything to milk this whole 20's-30's "flapper" trend we've got going on right now. (Which I love, thank you Boardwalk Empire and Downton Abbey.) The other day I woke up with more curlyish waves than actual curls and was feeling a bit blase, even though waves are just as pretty as curls and I would've killed for waves like that before I went CG. So I reminded myself of that fact, was thankful for the abundance of shine and lack of frizz. Then I styled my bangs sideswept myself and pinned up the right side of my hair high and mighty and fixed it with a pretty flower. People commented on my "Spanish girl" look and said it looked very nice and I felt much better afterwards. Oftentimes just because you feel like a particular style doesn't suit you as well as something else, well, it's just a feeling. It doesn't mean it's true. I agree with Jas. You look really good both ways.

If you're anything like me your bangs will have grown out in no time. You can always twist them and pin them directly back and into your hair for added height and volume. Shorter earrings would be good. And if you're confident in your bone structure (which you should be!) and how you ears look you could twist and pin back sections there so your ears could show and you could show off what you're wearing. I have lots of studded or smaller earrings too for when I decide to pin hair back or where it up. When it's long and down, however, I'm like you. I just put on big earrings.

Hey,
when I got my hair cut short (chin length) I felt a bit like an oldie trying to rock a childish haircut. BUT I found that looking at hairstyles and 'dos for this length on pinterest really helped. It can give you a lot of ideas and you can see what some actresses do with it, or wear with it to make it mature and sexy looking.

I'm in the same boat. I am growing out a chin-length bob and it only looked good (IMO) straight. I don't want to deal with the damage of heat styling anymore, but I feel like I look like a child with it curly at this length. I'm going for a Devacut at the end of the month and I'm hoping that will help with shape b/c it doesn't have any right now.

Oh you guys. There's nothing wrong with looking a little younger. Also bobs are long enough that they grow out in no time, I promise.
