Does anyone else..
not like to cake their hair with product? I'd rather have a minimal routine with minimal product. Otherwise I feel like I'm just altering my hair rather than working with what I have. Yea, that's all really.

I'm not sure if you are looking for a low-product method, or if you are just commenting on this. I'm going to assume the former, in which case: have you tried the Tightly Curly method? (It's based on the book called "Curly Like Me" by Terri LaFlesh, but you don't need to buy the book to learn it.) Basically, you just define your curls with leave-in conditioner. That's it. Wash you hair as usual, add a heavy (rinse-out) condish, then rinse it out (surprise! lol), and then add a lighter leave-in condish. Here's where the method comes in: you pull the leave-in through each curl individually, defining your hair this way. It's a very minimal method, and doesn't leave your hair with any "producty" feeling. I've tried it few times it seems to work, although honestly I prefer also adding a jelly like KCCC. Hope this helps!

I am the same way. I don't like using product 😒 but everyone is different. My hair routine is very simple.
I just wet my hair in the shower, co-wash with a clarifying conditioner, rinse it out, apply a more moisturizing conditioner as a leave in, detangle with my fingers, cup my hands with cold water and splash the top of my head, scrunch, and then air dry. I hate a crunchy feeling and product usually gives me that...so i prefer going without.
On the days that i don't wash my hair and if my curls need refreshing...I just wet my hair with a spray bottle and scrunch in conditioner 😊
I am really loving my routine and my curls are very happy! 💜

I was more just making a comment, maybe that was kinda silly to do. Haha. But thanks, that sounds interesting!

I do use a gel too, but I shower at night, so all the crunch is gone after I sleep in it. I just don't understand how people can use like 3 different gels, then this, that, and the other thing under the gel. Sometimes I use a cream too, but only for extra moisture. But I guess everyone is different!

I hate using lots of products and so does my hair. Everything weighs my hair down. If I use more than 1 products I get no volume. But, I have yet to find one thing that both controls frizz and doesn't dry my hair out :-/

i wish i could use less product but thats not an option for me. I have to at least has a leave in and a styler. I cant just use my leave in. I wish. Girls with thinner hair and less curls then me can get away with it. Be lucky lol!

I'm still learning what my waves like, but if I can get the look I want with little or no product, that would be ideal. It's been about 20 years since I regularly used product on my hair. But I'll do what I have to do to get the Merida hair of my dreams.
