Curlies in arid climates. . . summer plans?

Do any of your curlies who live in arid climates do anything differently in the summer? I'm preparing for 100 degree temperatures and very dry dews so I'm thinking I may have to deep treat more. Even weekly. That's no hardship though. It's just it's my first SoCal summer after going CG so I want to make sure my hair doesn't dry out.

I've been thinking about this a lot too lately, since I'm moving from Colorado to Vegas in two months. I'm thinking I'll need to deep condition more often as well, and maybe co-wash twice a week rather than once.

CG is just way too much to keep track of
medium porosity, medium density, medium everything

Good Lord Vegas! The last time I was in Vegas it was one o'clock in the morning and 101 degrees. I haven't been to Colorado yet but I hear it's so gorgeous and serene. Vegas is a serious change of pace but it's a blast. Just a very arid blast. Yeah let's keep tabs this summer. I'm going to deep treat again this weekend and see if that's enough or if I'll have to bump it up.

Have to confess I never do anything different to my hair through the different seasons. I've had enough trouble finding a few things that work for me so I just stick with them, don't want to rock the boat! I actually can't remember the last time I did a dt either, I don't seem to need them even when it's drier than dry (the weather, not my hair!). You may cope better than you think.

I was just thinking about this too! I live in Phoenix, and my summers are spent in A/c and the pool. I try to wear a bathing cap in the pool to protect it from the chlorine (to the chagrin of my husband. ) But I don't always do that.

Are there any pretreatments/protectors that are curly girl friendly to apply before going in the pool?
