Default My hair doesn't feel any softer after doing a DT?

I did a DT with heat for 30 mins this morning with Curly Kinks Renew (protein free) and my hair didnt feel any softer after....now, this is a new product for me, but shouldn't it feel soft? It was even a little tangly. I had to add some Knot Today to comb through. My hair doesn't normally tangle easily.

So, the question is should I hit it with protein? I don't really know if I'm sensitive to it or not.

Some DT's don't make my hair feel softer, even without protein. They just seem to make it feel stronger. For softness I rely on a regular conditioner.

OT: DT's makes it sound like I've been on a bender

I've tried DTs and they've never really done anything significant to my hair, but I did one for 20 minutes with *heat* (bonnet dryer attachment on my hair dryer) last night and today my hair isn't any softer but it's a lot CURLIER!

My hair is very low porosity but maybe you need to try adding some heat to open up the cuticle and let the conditioner in better.

Poo: Garnier Fructis Pure Clean (yes, it has a mild sulfate, but I have Teflon hair)
Co-wash: VO5 Kiwi Lime Clarifying Conditioner
LI: GVPCB or
Keratin Complex Vanilla Bean Deep Conditioner (nothing to do with keratin straightening, just a nice conditioner)
Style: KCCC + Pantene Curl Shaping Gel (winter) or LALSG (summer)
Dry: Diffuse or air dry, depends on my mood

Hmmm I think I should try it. I used an evolve foil cap today that traps the body heat on the head but it doesn't help. I just gotta figure out how to apply the heat cuz I don't have a hard hat dryer or bonnet attachment. No matter what DT I use my hair doesn't come out softer and it has less curls than before I started -__-

Maybe try a different DT? Or add to the one you have now?

For DT's I often take my regular RO and add EVOO and/or EVCO, some honey and a little ACV. Works like a charm!

Thanks for the tips, I'm new to DTs so I have no clue. I bought one especially labeled as a DT, but thought at the time it might be a waste. I just bought the GVPCB yesterday at Sally's. I'll try that next time.

HUGE GVPCB fan!!

You can still use the one you have, just maybe try adding the oil and honey. Maybe mix some of the CB in with it, too! I mix condishes for DT's all the time! Lol!
