I'm a 3a/b and have a pixie. Got it cut 5 weeks ago. Don't have great pics but maybe I can help. It was cut really short, like Charlize Theron at oscars but I don't push up the front. At that length my hair doesn't curl or wave yet. I also don't blow dry or use flat iron. I always let it air dry. It's been 5 weeks so now the top is a little longer and has some wave but I use it to make my hair messy/piecey.
I think with curly hair, the pixie will not be as wispy as Michelle Williams unless you want to blow dry and/or flat iron. You can definitely pull a Halle berry type pixie easily. Curly hair's innate texture allows for messy pixies but a sleek pixie will require work.
It is definitely do-able! Good luck.

LOOB for second day hair
Hey 3bpixie. Did you do it? I wanted to show you my now 6 week grown out pixie. I could add product and wear it sleek (no wave) if I wanted to. I decided to play with my texture and just pushed it all forward and messy while encouraging wave. Mind you this is after I've been outside at the park all day! I've run my fingers through my hair a bunch of times too so it looks fluffy (I like it more styled and piecey). Anyway, my point is you can use your curl/texture and play with it.
