Found my HG!!!
Just have to spread the news about my happiness!! Haven't found all of my go to products yet but, I made a batch of FSG this weekend and am super happy with it!! Second day hair even looks great after spraying a bit and adding a little more!! YAY!! Why did I not try this stuff earlier?? It is a little snot like but I can get past that for the sake of my hair!!
Those of you who haven't decided to try it really should, It is really cheap and easy to make and if it doesn't work for you you are not out a bunch of cash :)
K, Im done now
I went through this same exact realization a few weeks ago! I debated making it forever before I finally got around to it, and I really regretted waiting. I am in love with FSG! Plus, its so so customizable and a great way to test new ingredients without spending $20 to do so.
Congrats! I'm glad to hear you like it too
Hi...Love FSG too. Can you share your recipe please.
4Tbsp flax seed
2 cups water.
Put both in a pot. Bring to a boil.
once Boiling, i cook for 2 - 2 1/2 mins.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using CurlTalk App
4 TBSP flax seeds
2 cups water
1 tsp agave nectar
3/4 tsp gelatin
Bring the water to a boil, add flax seeds and continue to boil for 4-5 minutes.
In a smaller container, I dissolve the gelatin in some water so it doesn't clump. I mix my other ad-ins with the dissolved gelatin. (I've found that when I do it this way, I get NO clumps and everything dissolves nicely).
Strain seeds and immediately add other ingredients. Stir, and done!
I want to experiment with adding some Epsom Salt (mag sulfate), vit. E oil, and aloe vera.
I love it too! After trying so many expensive products, fsg has been the best gel I have ever used! I am still learning what ingredients do or don't work on my hair but the last 2 batches I made I made it with the following:
1/4 cup flax seed
2 cups water
1 tbsp lavender scented Epsom salt
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp glycerine
3-4 drops grapeseed oil
2 tbsp pure Aloe vera gel
The grapeseed doesnt mix so I have to shake it all up before I use it but this combination has been working great for me. I am getting some frizz on top and from reading other posts on here, I am thinking it might be the glycerine and/or alove vera since they are humectants. Ill have to make the next batch without them and see how it goes.
The batch I am loving is
2cup water (bottled)
1/2 cup flax
Boil till egg white thickness (I like it kinda thin so far)
I added 1/4 tblsp honey and a few drops of Africa's best herbal oil and 6 drops lavender essential oil (so it smelled good lol) whisked. I. Love it!
I tried a batch with Epsom salt but am not sure about it yet. I was apparently in desperate need of a PT when I used it. Will update.
I have some Epsom with lavender and mint already added but was not sure if I could use it, or if boiling would alter the scent. Might give it a shot.
Next batch..... Maybe vitamin e oil, try some different essential oils.....orange or grapefruit? Citrus could be yummy :)
Dew points are almost non existent here so I will wait till summer for aloe and glycerine :)
I am on my 4th hair day now, which only happens with FSG. With the honorable exception of the front of my hair (which I affectionately call my bangs though it is no such thing) I haven't really had to touch it. Sure there's some frizz, but what can you do, yknow? To make myself presentable I had to cowash every other day until I began using FSG again. Might have to do with the great dews here in Portland, too, but I like to think FSG does the trick for me, since I can control that.
