Default what to do if your hair is over conditioned?

I've been using protein once a week and that seems to perk my hair up but in the week my hair gets limp and loses its curl. I heard that means your hair is over conditioned. This only happens when I skip my wash. I've been using coconut oil, which my hair loves but sometimes its a little too moisturizing lol

so what do I do when my hair is over conditioned?
do I use less leave ins and oil?
do I wash more?

I would shampoo it. You can use a sulfate free shampoo if you're going CG.

Definitely less oil... maybe you don't even need a leave-in (or try using less). If you OC'd try a protein treatment and/or a sulfate-free shampoo.
