When I got my FSG out of the fridge this morning it had a bit of a smell to it. I'm assuming this means it's expired, or at least borderline expired. I was in a rush to get out of the house, so I used it anyway but mixed it with some CiaB just in case. I'll have time to make a new batch this weekend.
So my question is: What affects, if any, does using (slightly) expired FSG have on hair? I haven't really noticed a difference so far today but I am curious about it.
Just as a side note - I will be making a fresh batch either way Using expired FSG is obviously not ideal.

There is probably no effect other than you've got some, err, extra bacteria in your hair right now. But since the FSG just went rancid it is probably minor. Besides I see women who hoard their hair products and cosmetics for years after they've expired (so gross!) and use them at their own risk. Their hair seems no worse for the wear. And FSG is all natural so . . . just wash it out thoroughly later. You should be fine.
