Griping, I can always gripe. Its a form of stress management; if you have not tried it, I suggest you do and recommend it highly:

Gripe #1: yes I get up earlier so that my hair can dry naturally now. I dont like this...but have not figured out how to diffuse it now that I see it is basically 3A/3B hairl.

Gripe #2: yes for those who said it, I second it: 3A hair is just difficult, and add low porosity to it..I never know what my hair will do. It does not have a strong springy pattern characteristic of 3B opr 3C; when it was 2C (pre-CG), I knew reasonably well what to use on it and how to diffuse it with my hot sock. Now -all bets are off.

Gripe #3: I have a LOT of silver. I get the roots done every 4 weeks. By about the 3rd week, the silver is causing droop at the top. Nothing I have tried helps this problem.

those are my 3 for now. Wait a few minutes - I am sure I will have more.

I usually do get it out of the way in a low pony or a messy bun in back because if I pull it high on top I'll ruin whatever root curl/volume I got going on. Yes I can fix it later but it takes strategic rewetting, refluffing, and the reapplication of product.

I tried putting a small, thin hair tie in my hair today in a half up, half down style. When I tried to remove it boy was it tangled! I could not get it out so I had to cut it out and it was quite a few strands! I was not happy, I chucked that hair tie in the garbage. Those thinner hair ties don't work, and many of the smaller sizes just bust on me when I try to wrap them around my thick ponytail. For some reason the larger thicker hair ties are less likely to get tangled.

Latest curly hair woe. . . has anybody ever woken up breathing through their mouth because so much hair was in their face? Happened to me this morning. I suppose this could be a straight haired person or even a long haired person gripe too. But curls take up more space. It's like an octopus is sitting on your face.
The day after I cut off my waist-length spirals, the guy I was dating woke me up that morning squeezing me and going "omg, I can cuddle without fear of being eaten by your hair tentacles! and they don't try to force their way down my throat at night!" ... whoops >.> ;D

The occasional frizz, pretty second day hair but not in clumps, and shrinkage!

No chance of second day hair here. Zero. It's completely tangled & destroyed regardless of what I do overnight. #finethincurlyhairissues.

I shower at night now. Sleep on it in a soft scrunchie. If I want to do it curly, I set my alarm for 5:30, wet it all the way down, & style. If I want more sleep, I wake up at 6:45, roll out of bed, & put it all up in a high messy bun.

I have chronic insomnia and have to take a pretty strong sedative to sleep. It's hard to get up in the AM. More nights than not, I am way more motivated to do my hair in the morning than I am when it's actually morning & the alarm goes off. Therefore, it's up in a crappy bun most days lol.

my curlygripe: my hair was more curly, less messy in winter than it is now in spring...
Maybe I need a trim? (it's been 8-9 weeks since my last trim)
For my trim, last time (first trim as a curly) I had my hairdresser cut some layers, but only a little bit.
I was wondering, if I get more and more different layers, will it give me "more" curl? I'm a 2c I think so somewhere between wavy and curly and I'm a bit afraid of getting my hair cut and so on I don't want it to go straight or so

Neleke, isn't this change probably due to a difference in the dew point though? I'd recommend playing around with products before a hair cut. If that doesn't work then shorter and strategic layers might help your curl pattern.

lcl706, do you sleep with hair under your face or over? I sleep with my hair spread over my head and I've never had a problem with second day or third day hair. (I realize I'm coarse and you're fine but still. . .) Actually I've always slept that way because otherwise my hair really bothers me. Feels like I'm lying my head down on a cat. Or some tentacles, like arsanga said.

Latest curly hair issue: Hugs. People use hugs as a way to touch your hair when their hands are clamped around your back. And then you're trapped. Literally.

dusa, I've slept with my hair going every which way and it don't matter. it's really too short to push it one direction or the other. plus I roll all over & can't control it and it gets so tangled its not salvageable. it's ok tho, I really need to wash it daily. I have a greasy scalp & dandruff & with fine hair it's just not doable for me to skip a day.

UGH! I have 2b short hair! And some days it gets extra wavy with some curls. My friends always say, "Your hair looks....different today." I HATE it so much! It's like JUST EXCEPT MY WAVES AND CURLS!

GLASSES! Waaah. Anybody else find that their glasses get caught in their curls and then when you go to take off said glasses they pull a bunch of hairs with 'em? I feel as if I'm getting scalped every other day.

Im starting to get annoyed with having so many questions to answer from other ppl.

Especially when they ask how did i get my hair like this, and i tell them it grows like this, naturally. Then they ask more questions as if they dont believe you.

I totally relate to this! For my job I deal with working with a lot of patients one on one, and I get asked about my hair at least twice a day! I feel like i'm almost being interrogated about having curly hair. And everyone always ends the conversation with "people with straight hair want curly, and people with curly hair want straight.".... Um I never said I hated my curly hair.

My issues:

It's always been my dream to have classic length hair (classic length = bit past butt). Like as long since I can remember. And I still reaaaally want to have it that long. I finally have the knowledge about hair to reach this goal; it grows QUICK and I no longer have split ends that often. It's a little past waist length right now (30 inches). And I'm already struggling with the sheer amount of maintenance..... seriously, the amount of product I have to use. The costs. The tangles. The detangling process. DRYING TIME. %^#*^&#*^%$$!!!#

Makes me think about this... think I'll at least have to quit CG somewhere around hip length.

Why would going un-CG be any less time consuming though? Wouldn't you still have to wash, detangle and apply product? Or do you mean the heat styling aspect? I guess if you were to straighten your hair you could go days without washing. But for me that wold be tricky. It would still get messed up when I exercise. . . I bet you look gorgeous and get tons of compliments though. However I also bet everyone wants to touch your mermaid curls.

All of you who are waking up super early to wash, style and dry in the mornings *you seriously deserve an award... I don't know if I could do it. I feel very fortunate that I work from home, so I usually start my day with a wet head that can air-dry through my morning shift OR I shower after lunch and let my hair air-dry in the afternoon.

It is really annoying on special occasion days or events like weddings or parties or holidays when you want to be fancy and dress up and ...you want your hair to be nice and it NEVER cooperates on those days!
