KCCC alternative anyone?

Like Tree5Likes

I like that KCCC reduces my frizz, but it leaves my hair very hard. I can't use more than one product at a time on my hair, so I don't want to mix it with anything else. Does anyone know an alternative to it that won't give me really hard hair? When I SOTC it just makes my hair frizzy and it still remains kinda crunchy
Medium texture, normal porosity, normal elasticity
I honestly wish I could help you. I think some day (hopefully soon) someone is going to come up with a product that properly rivals KCCC but costs way less and solves the problem you're talking about.

I know people on here have been trying to scare up said alternative for a while now. It's like the NC Test Kitchen. Some are experimenting with marshmallow root and others with gelatin and many with several such things. The one who breaks the code is sure to get a giant virtual hug from many of us

FSG! Honestly, it's the best stuff I've ever used. You can use a little or a ton and get beautifully soft results. It's cheap, easy, and effective. I love it! I use 3 tablespoons of seeds per 2 cups of water and strain with pantyhose.

Uncle Funky's daughter curly magic. LOVE IT!!! It does not give me crunch like KCCC and its not quite as sticky. I love both but UFDCM has become my favorite.

I recently bought the III sisters of nature curling gelo because it says "Compare to KCCC" on it.

Ummm no. Not even close. The second ingredient was glycerin- KCCC doesn't even have any glycerin in it!

Just wanted to stick this warning in there for anyone who was hoping it would be interchangeable. For me- it wasn't. Not even close.
Korkscrew likes this.

Skorpio, I promise if I ever figure out how to concoct anything as remarkable as KCCC you had better believe I'd share it with you and the world. But yes, FSG is awesome and it doesn't leave your hair crunchy or hard. Also it takes roughly about the same time it would to make some mac and cheese.

I agree with the others on FSG and UFD CM...i personally love okra gel more then FSG...And okra gel is easier to make...Just started using UFD CM again and im finding a new love with it...

I've used the SM soufflé and I have fine curly hair. I had really good results with it a couple winters ago but haven't tried it again in a while. don't over do it, a little goes a very long way. I find it sticky so I definitely used it on very wet hair.
fine, thin, normal/(low?) porosity. Mod-CG. Usually I can't co-wash more than 1x a week, & sometimes I have to use T-Gel in rotation due to scalp issues.

Co-wash: VO5 Volumizing

Jas uses it and she's fine. I think she uses very little though bc it is supposed to be heavy. If ya don't like it just return it.

Idk, Dusa. I have to try it again because yesterday it was pouring rain out, so my hair was frizzy from that alone. Idk if it was the weather or not, but my hair did seem more curly than with KCCC. Also, it had more small, tight curls that large waves like it usually does. I can't wait to try it in "normal" weather
Medium texture, normal porosity, normal elasticity
makes sense. i definitely have tighter curls going on with fsg than KCCC. bummer about the rain. it's due to rain here soon too. weird.
