What ingredients penetrate low porosity hair?

I have fine, low porosity hair. Most things just sit on my hair. What ingredients or products would be good for my hair? The latest product I'm trying is SM curling gel soufflé
Medium texture, normal porosity, normal elasticity
Products with a thin/light consistency.

Ingredients would be tricky, anything with small-enough molecules will penetrate eventually it's just different for everybody. It's good to think of porosity as a scale that ranges from high to medium to low with points inbeween...for example, one person can have lower porosity than another low-po. It's not a set high, med, low where all "lows" and "highs" are the same. It takes different times for everyone, the only consensus (that I can think of) is to avoid heavy leave-ins and stylers to allow for easier penetration and faster drying time.
I have fine low porosity as well and my hair takes in the soufflé well. I love it. Also KCCC works well too. A little goes well since they are more of a jelly consistency. I agree with the curly above that lighter consistency is better.
High Porosity, Fine, Thin Density, Low Elasticity
Co-wash, leave in, and gel: Alba botanica coconut cond., ogx mousse, &/or super wet look gel.
Curls
I have coarse, low porosity hair. I find conditioners that resemble body lotion with medium consistency works best for me.

3b/c, medium-coarse, low porosity, high density
HG: Jessicurl Too Shea and Kinky Curly Curling Custard
Shampoo: nonsulfate shampoo and Suave Naturals sulfate shampoo when needed
The soufflé doesn't help as much as KCCC for frizz but it makes my curls tighter. Like everyone says though I have to be careful how much I put. The coconut oil in it (I think) makes it oily on my hair so I have to put very, very small amounts in it. I'm still frizzy but I like that my curls are tighter. *sigh* the never ending battle continues
Medium texture, normal porosity, normal elasticity
I had a thought, Skorpio. Because your individual hair strands are fine and you've got high density, maybe it gets frizzy because you need more protein. I'm sure there is some protein (probably silk) in the souffle but there is none in the KCCC or the Curl Keeper which are the two more recent products you were experimenting with. Have you tried a PT to see if that helps with frizz? Also fine hair needs protein regularly in order to promote elasticity and strengthen the curl pattern. And like kathymack says, the only site that says low porosity hair doesn't like protein is this one so maybe the gelatin treatment would help you. That helps a lot of fine to medium curlies. Hell, even my coarse hair didn't mind a 3 minute or a fifteen minute one. It seemed to perk the hair up a little.
