OMG so my daughter & I somehow contracted head lice. UGH! GROSS! YES I KNOW!!

So I did the treatment to kill the *******s, but to remove the eggs thoroughly you need a special nit comb. What sheer hell. First of all the tines are so close together I couldn't even get it through my hair. so I used a regular comb first. HERE COMES THE FRIZZ!! Then on damp hair, you use this special comb whose tines are millimeters apart. I just wanted to cry. My hair is mid back length and I seriously wanted to chop it ALL off. It was pulling out hair left and right. I found more grays than I thought had. It was completely and totally the opposite of curlygirl. Combing hair with a fine tooth comb???? So now I have this big puff ball of straight hair. Turn me upside down, dip me in a bucket and I can mop the floor . Though on the bright side, if there is one, I see my hair trying to curl. But we need to do the comb every 2 days for 10 days!! I really hope my hair is not damaged beyond repair.

That happened to me a few years ago! My son got lice from summer camp and then I got them! I literally put my hair in a pony and chopped 8 inches off I was so grossed out and couldn't get that comb through my hair. I had to use that thing 3 days straight, twice a day....and then 2 weeks later for 3 days straight just to make sure I got every one of them (10 days is the life cycle If I remember correctly). I feel your pain!!!!! Hang in there! This too shall pass.

bummer lice is a pain in the butt, but it will pass as long as you are diligent....make sure you treat your whole house too...stuffed animals, blankets, pilllow cases, even your pillows should go in the dryer!
When I got them, I researched like a crazy person and learned lice cannot live off your scalp, so cleaning anything in the house is a waste of time. I did nothing but treat our heads, didnt do anything else. And they were completely gone in 2 days.
