Question Honey vs. Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey

Is there a big enough difference between Honey and Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey (Honeyquat) that someone who's hair has never played nice with honey might be able to tolerate it in a shampoo? I hear it's supposed to be like super glycerin...which would be a good thing.

Your hair is close in properties to mine. I use honeyquat in both my FSG and okra gel. It's probably 4+ years since I remember using honey (it may be in a product and I just don't remember), so I can't say what it did--but I don't recall any issues.

I'd say it's something you could try, especially in a shampoo. When one has low porosity hair, it's my theory that what you do in the shower is less important then your styling products. In the shower, it's in your hair for a relatively short time--how much can low porosity hair soak up in a minute or two?? And that's a rinse out, your shampoo is only in your hair for a shorter period.

Thank you, that's sort of what I was thinking. That it might matter less in a poo.
