Devacurl=itching?

Hi ladies! I recently started using the Devacurl products, (No-Poo, one Condition, B'Leavein, Angel & Set it Free). I really like how my hair has taken to the products and I have recieved several complements on my hair. Unfortunately, I noticed my neck (not scalp) has been itchy and I was wondering if it was related to the products. Has anyone experienced this?

The reason I'm not sure if it's the products or is is that I have been breaking out in itchy spots lately with the weather change. Usually they go away, but this one has been constant. Thank you!
This happens to me with some heavily scented products. Do you have sensitive skin? If so, the fragrances might be bugging you.

What I do is after I rinse my hair, I take my body wash (Dove Sensitive Skin or whatever off brand of it I happen to find) on a back loofah and clean my back and neck area so I can be sure that all the fragrance is gone, since that's what irritating my skin.

If it isn't the fragrance, it's probably some other ingredient. You might try slowly swapping in other products.

Unfortunately, this is a common problem with Deva products. Many curlies, including myself, are allergic to the fragrance or ingredients and suffer reactions ranging from a runny nose and itchy eyes to painful sores on the scalp, neck, and back.

My hair prefers the more natural products from the online, boutique type companies. I stay away from chemicals, especially polyquats.

I've also been allergic to a lot of products--CK, anything Bioterra, the original Shea M leave in, Phyto Phytodefrisant . I'm careful with scents and ingredients.

It seems unlikely that your scalp, the more sensitive part of your skin, and the part that's most exposed to the products isn't reacting to them, but that other parts of your skin are. If there are products which aren't in contact with your scalp, but are in contact with your neck, I suppose it's possible.

I'd suggest that you try eliminating products one at a time, and see if that helps. On the basis of the fact that Set It Free is the one product that's sprayed onto your hair once it's dry (unless you have some other application method), I think I'd try eliminating that one first.
