Question Shea Moisture Curling Souffle vs. KCCC

For those of you who've tried both, how do they compare? I kind of want to try the souffle but then I already make my own FSG which I'm thinking is the same thing really and my allegiance to KCCC is unflinching. I love KCCC! I can even use it in dry hair. Is the souffle the same way? I know the reviews are mixed and I am still trying to figure out my hair's tolerance to glycerine.

id like the answer to this as well. i love the smoothie from shea moisture and i heard that mixing the milk/souffle or the smoothie/souffle or all three is great.

I love KCCC in the winter when the dews are low. It gives me a crunch that scrunches out into defined curls that last. I am currently experimenting with the Souffle. The texture is more chunky. I use a Denman brush after raking it in to distribute it evenly. Then I add a bit more and scrunch it in before plopping.

While the KCCC has always given me crunch and clumpy curls, the Souffle doesn't. My curls don't clump at all, but I do have curls. My hair feels soft, but a little dry.

I have tried it with a little leave-in, without a leave-in, with more leave-in and less Souffle. When I used more Souffle (about the same amount as I would've used KCCC) my scalp felt a bit sticky and my hair felt a little gross, but the curls were pretty good.

Like I said, I'm still experimenting with it. With the high humidity and dews of summer coming, I don't know that the Souffle will work well. Summer curls are always a challenge for me.

Thanks, Jas! I had a feeling you'd asked (vaguely remembered with all that souffle, smoothie talk) but I'd forgotten if the thread went anywhere. Now I'm rereading. Well, I'm torn. Souffle has to be used wet it seems. I can use my FSG in wet or dry or damp hair. Hmmm. Maybe I should start a thread comparing the souffle to FSG. . . Which do you prefer Jas? You use both interchangeably right?

Soufflé all the way KCCC is too sticky and leaves my hair hard as a rock. The soufflé separates my curls more and enhances them whereas KCCC stretches them out

I actually just bought KCCC and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! It did give a tiny bit of crunch, but when I SOTC, I got springy, shiny, well defined clumpy curls. The SM curl souffle, made my hair sticky and feel strange- like oily and dry at the same time.

I know I am not Jas , but I much prefer FSG over the souffle!

Ive been using souffle for about a week now and I think I really like it. Yes its a little sticky but once it dries my hair looks great. I use very little just dipping my fingers into the container and then raking it through a large section. This stuff is pretty great to me.

Yeah, no contest. KCCC all the way. I do not like soufflé much. It makes me hair feel oily and stringy.

Love the KCCC and cannot seem to get the soufflé to work on my hair. It always turns out sticky no matter how much I use. My hair also does not like glycerin.

I prefer FSG over the soufflé... But I hate that I can't travel with FSG and have to keep it refrigerated. Considering buying some Rockin Ringlets so I can not have to worry about all that. (I'll still make my own, too!)

I do like the soufflé, but I'm finding that in these warmer months my hair doesn't like it as much. It's as though my harder hold products are less effective with it.

I'm going to break down and try KCCC and maybe RR. Unless someone knows of another FSG product that doesn't need refrigeration!
