Default How long does it take to air dry your hair?

And what are your properties? I'm very curious in the diffrences!

My hair takes 3 hours to air dry.
It's fine, porous and has medium to high density. The longest layer is BSL stretched.

My naked hair probably takes about 2-3 hours to dry. With product, air drying alone can take up to 6 hours. My hair is just past chin length, fine texture, normal porosity per hair analysis, and very dense (when I did the ponytail measurement, the ponytail was large enough for my density to be thick, and I measured after my last pre-CG haircut- where the stylist thinned my hair without my permission).

Naked hair about 1-2 hours.

With product, 2-3 hours.

In a ponytail- all day where the elastic is, lol!

My hair is high porosity, medium density, mostly normal texture with some fine and coarse thrown in for good measure.

3C, low porosity, Med/high density. I'm in the "awkward stage" of growth, so the two long pieces ate just past my shoulders when stretched, and the rest just brushes my shoulders when stretched. It takes a very short time for my hair to dry if it's not pulled back. It stays moist as long as it's pulled back. I do pat it a bit with a towel after squeezing out the wate so I'm not dripping all over the place, but after that I let it air dry.

Once I went swimming, and when I left the dressing room afterward the woman at the desk looked at me in surprise and asked, "Did you go swimming?"
"Yeah," I said. "My hair just dries fast!"

Low porosity. 4 hours generally. If I put it up in a pony tail or a bun when it's wet though, the interior will stay wet all day!

High Porosity, thick/dense.

I am growing out an inverted bob so my hair is layered. The longest layer is just brushing my shoulders. I always have product in so I can not tell you how long it takes to air dry w/o but it can take over 10-12 hours with product. When my hair is long enough to put up, it will still be damp a day or two later.

My mom has straight, fine, low porosity hair and it takes 8-10 hours for hers to air dry.

Naked 2-3 hours. With product I'm not sure it would ever dry if I didn't diffuse!

Naked 30-40 min. With product, 1-2 hrs if I scrunch squeeze out excess moisture with a MF towel after leave in and before gel. From completely wet with product though it's 3-4 hours. I quickly learned I don't like applying my products to soaking wet hair for this reason. Besides leave in that is.

wow, so many differences!

Would the time it takes you to air dry your hair really has to do most with whether you are highly porous or not?

It's probably a combo of density (and length to some extent) and porosity. At least that was generally the pattern I saw. Product use would also have some impact. But if you look at people with similar texture and density, you can probably get an idea of your porosity based on where your drying time falls.

doing the Deva method of not drying with a towel but putting gel into wet hair, my hair probably takes 6 hrs to dry all the way and that's with diffusing.
If I did it totally w/o a hair dryer, I think it would take a good 10 hours

Trying out: Suave Naturals wild strawberry (co-wash) Garnier Fructis Pure and Clean fortifying conditioner, Redken crystal curls 6, Live Clean Argan Oil Treatment, Pantene curl shaping gel
Thinking of trying: Live Clean Argan oil conditioner or Live Clean Bali Oil conditioner....who recommends them?
