Smh can I say lesson learned lol.I boiled the gel too long. so it was sooo thick couldnt get it to go thru the strainer.I had to run around tryin to find a stocky then I tired to find something to use to get it out
Smh I had to use my hands it was soooo hot lol.so I only got very lil gel

I've frozen seeds to reuse them. It worked but I had to boil them a little longer in order to achieve my desired thickness. When I froze the excess FSG that I had made, and went to use it the next day after thawing in the refrigerator overnight, it was a mess! It was watery, though some of it was still thick. It just had a horrible texture.

If that happens again, just add more water until the consistency thins out enough.

You can freeze the seeds to reuse. I make large batches of FSG and Okra gel and freeze them in empty 4 oz prescription bottles. I do use a thickener and emulsify the FSG with an immersion (stick) blender. When I defrost, I just shake it up and it's fine.

Kathymack, when you defrost your FSG, do you put it in the refrigerator?

No, but I use preservative (generally potassium sorbate.)
