What can I add to FSG for extra hold?

I need advice from all of the mixtresses out there. I LOVE fsg but find I have put put a little hard hold gel over it. Is there anything I can add that would increse the hold? Should I boil longer or what? Please help :) Thanks in advance!

Boiling longer helps because the thicker it is (more mucilage) the better it holds together. That said, I only boil mine for ten minutes. Then I add a tsp of aloe vera gel (Lily of the Valley), vitamin e oil, and agave nectar and all of those together seem to make it more jelly like and increase hold. So does marshmallow root. I throw a tsp of that in with my flax seeds as I boil. Some people mix their hard hold gels with FSG. You could do that in your palm. Oh you could also substitute the agave with honey. Add more than I do for increased hold.

Dusa hit everything!! The only one I know of to add is corn starch, but you can try the others first!

Agave will increase hold. I have also used arrowroot powder.

What is the difference between adding honey and agave nectar in terms of hold? Does one hold more than the other?

I have never used honey, but considering the fructose content is similar I would imagine their effect on hold would be similar.
