Default Rec for Products without Polyquats

I am wondering if I am having issues (a bit dry/frizz) with polyquats. I am currently using Curl Junkie Coffee Cocoa Crème light and Curls in a Bottle--both of which have polyquats. Any recs for products that don't. I don't mind a little protein, but would like to try to avoid glycerin as well. Ugh!

a lot of the curl junkie products do not have polyquats. for stylers for low and mid dews i use pattern pusha gel, no glycerin. in the high dews i love aloe fix gel, it is my summer hg! aloe fix does have glycerin which is why i cn only use it in high/mid dew points (yes, my hair loves glycerin in high dews!)
also, smoothing lotion is a great leave in/styler!! it does have glycerin and works well in mid dew points.
i have also used beauticurls leave in as styler.

I stay away from polyquats. Most of my favorites are in my signature.

I did see them rbb. We seem similar as I am a 3a, low elasticity with medium to fine hair, but I think higher porosity. I tend to get dry. I was just guessing I needed to ditch my glycerin in summer as I thought it would def gives poof. It's worked well in winter. Maybe I will try them as it seems to work for you! I am new to all of this. Dryness and poof seems to my biggest issues so I am still trying to figure the whole glycerin, polyquat, protein thing! Ugh!

where do you live? i'm in northeast, new york, so the winters are pretty dry, and i stay away from glycerin in winter!! a lot of people cannot use glycerin in summer as their hair takes on too much moisture. that has never happened to me, guess my hair can't get enough moisture!! LOL!
so, not only hair properties, but climate, dew points inside and outside, type of water in your area...... how you apply products.....
it is tricky, but once you get products your hair loves, it's all worth it!

I am in Dallas, so summer's brutal heat and humidity is about to kick in. I have never paid attention to the CG in summertime yet. So much to factor in. So hard to tell if its the product, weather or phase of the moon that is affecting my hair!! If I can at least get moisturizered I will feel successful!

do you seal? i find that makes the difference for me. i cannot use oils, but my hair loves spiral solutions emollience butter and jane carter nourish and shine. others use grape seed oil, and lots of other oils. you can do a search on sealing, lots of threads, tips.

I had thought of trying that and hadn't got around to it. In the thread I read some said they put a few drops of oil in their leave in and applied it after showering. I was going to try that. Is this how you do it-minus the oil?

i add the sealant butter on after the leave in, while my hair is still very wet. then i apply styler.
