Default Brazilian blowout - Have you had one?

I'm a 3a with fine strands. I've been considering the Brazilian blowout to loosen my curls. I do not straighten my hair and just about always let it dry naturally. What was your experience with this process and would you do it again?

I've had a few, I loved them when they were fresh, but they killed my curls, it took a lot longer for my hair to recover than I expected and some areas are pretty straight now because of them.

I think one is probably fine, but if you keep having them done the effect seems to be cumulative, resulting in you having to grow the blowout out.

I did it once about a year ago. I hated it, even though others said it looked good. While my hair was smooth and had zero frizz, it was too flat for me. I felt like a drowned rat. I guess in the end it was a useful experiment, however. Trying to get some life back in my hair is how I stumbled on the curly girl method. I can see how someone with thicker or coarser hair than I have might really like it, but I won't ever do it again. I still have straight ends that I can't wait to get rid of.
