KCCC: Do or don't for fine/low porosity curly?

Oh you make me so curious about the souffle! Do you use anything under the souffle? I know most people have to use a leave-in under KCCC, but I actually prefer using as few products as possible. Seeing that the souffle has many moisturising ingredients (if I'm not mistaken), it should moisturise as well.

I tried the tiniest amount of BRHG today and I have massive crunch and no clumps. I used it over CQ and I must say that CQ isn't the best choice for my hair, but at least it used to give me some clumps. I'll see what happens when I just use BRHG after I've washed my hair, when it's all clean and productless.

Sounds like my hair, sKorpio. What are your properties?

I am still really on the fence about trying either KCCC or the souffle too. I have fine, low porosity hair as well and so far haven't found any HG's for my hair. I feel like I am getting there with the low poos and RO's I am using, and I have been using those as a LI as well in small amounts and my hair is soft and healthy looking, but now I need to find the right stylers because my curls need definition, hold and some frizz control. I like soft curls, and so far haven't ever loved gels, but I am afraid to try either of those two curl enhancers because they seem like they might weigh my curls down and I know most people then put a gel over them. So many things to think about lol.
My Hair:

Fine, low porosity, med/high density
BSL - going for mid back to waist

HG: currently
just washing with a low poo that contains protein (Alba Naturals Coconut) and using Suave Naturals Coconut as both a RO and LI. No stylers right now, but this gives me pretty good curl, definition, low-ish frizz, and it feels and looks good. Also an occasional PT (liking the Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula which has cones) seems to be key for me.

It's quite a challenge to discover what works for your hair, isn't it?

I'm still not sure which one I want to use. The Soufflé is much more expensive and more difficult to get for me (I live in the Netherlands) than KCCC.

However, I'm going to try some homemade FSG first. Got some flaxseeds today and who knows, it might just be what I'm looking for

Btw, I prefer using just one styling products. Otherwise my hair just feels coated and it gets weighed down so easily.

I was considering trying my own FSG or Okra gel first too, but after researching all the things I would need to get started (which admittedly would save in the long run if it was a product I used again and again) seemed pricey for a MAYBE. I am thinking I may order one from BB first to try out.

It seemed to be really cheap for me. I paid €1.69 for 500 grams of flaxseeds. I don't have any additives yet, I figured it would be best to try it all natural before adjusting the recipe.

The botticelli botanicals one. I know the flax seeds were fairly cheap, but all the additives seemed to add up. I would try to make my own if I thought my hair liked it though.

Another thing I wondered about/wanted to look more into was the curl junkie coffeecoco curling creme. It sounds like it might offer moisture and definition and work for some people as a one product type thing, but I haven't started looking into that one much yet.

Right off the bat I saw it had polyquats which I am trying to avoid for a bit to see if it helps me.

I have CJ CCCL, but I put it up on the swap board today because it doesn't work for me. It contains a lot of oils and they just sit in my hair because it is low porous, and the fact that my hair is fine leads to being weighed down. It does moisturise though. I'm a tad sad that it doesn't work for me because it smells delicious and I like the consistency.

I know that some other people with the same properties do like it though. You might want to ask rapunzel4ever about her experiences with CJ CCCL.

I just purchased all my supplies to make more batches, and if you keep it simple it's not much more.

For her foolproof formula, she only adds grape seed oil (but you could use any oil you have on hand except coconut), agave nectar (you can get this at the grocery store), flax seeds or okra (grocery), thickener (I used xanthan gum which you can get at a health food store), and preservative- This is the one that's harder to get! Lotion crafters.com is where I got mine. They have a $12 minimum purchase and shipping was around $7. All in all, I think I spent around $30 to buy the things I didn't already have!

Cleanse: CJ Daily Fix, JC Cleansing Cream, TJ Tea Tree Condish
Condish: JC Too Shea, CJ Curl Rehab (both as RO & LI)
Stylers: UFD CM, CJ PP, JC Spiralicious, Darcy's Cream Gel & Cocoa bean whip
I don't have much on hand to start, so would need it all and I was just going to try the smaller bottle to start. Then if I liked the effects go ahead and make the purchases to try and make my own. Just trying to decide which to get... was considering the additive options instead of the plain foolproof one but need to think about it a little more. And no idea what scent I want, there are too many choices lol.

My curls are also fine and low porosity. My hair hates it. It is like putting glue in my hair.
