If I cut my hair, will it shrink or lose curl?

Hey, guys. So I am wanting to cut my hair short. I REALLY love the "messy" look. But, if my curls become curlier when cut, I wont be able to pull it off. If it loses some curl and is a little more wavy, then I will be able to do it.

Most of all, what I want is some low-maintenance. Here is a picture of my hair.

just from looking at your hair, and comparing to my hair, i would say it will be less curly. it seems similiar to mine, and i had it cut into a pixie. i had a bit of wave, but not much curl. it was very easy to style.
I think it depends on your individual hair. Hair that is more wavy, if I'm not mistaken, tends to curl more the longer it is. I just did (another) big chop this week, and my hair has never been curlier. So I think it depends on your hair, and I'm not sure there's a way to know for sure?
2C/ Coarse/ Normal porosity/ SW Florida/ Salt & Pepper
Cleanse: CJ Daily Fix, JC Cleansing Cream, TJ Tea Tree Condish
Condish: JC Too Shea, CJ Curl Rehab (both as RO & LI)
Stylers: UFD CM, CJ PP, JC Spiralicious, Darcy's Cream Gel & Cocoa bean whip
My hair is also fine. I've heard fine hair tends to be more wavy when short, whereas courser hair will get curlier.

I really want to cut off this damaged mess. Lol!
Your hair sort of resembles mine - mine is fine also - but mine curls up more when shorter.
More open/ larger curls tend to appear less curly when short because of the 'pattern repeat', smaller diameter curls tend to appear the same or more curly when shorter due to the reduced weight of the hair.
rbb likes this.

I'm a 2c, fine hair - mine curls a lot more when cut/shorter....
I have 3a/b hair currently in short pixie. It is definitely less curly short, at chin length it's very curly then as it gets longer the weight makes it slightly less curly. I guess it depends on how short you wanna go.
3a/b, fine texture, low porosity, normal elasticity, mod-CG 7/11/11

Poo: KC Come Clean, SM Moisture Retention
CO: CJ Curl Rehab, CJ Argan & Olive Oil, Renpure Argan Oil, YTCucumbers, Sevi Pumpkin
Style: AIF, HESMU, Biolage gelee, KCCC
LOOB for second day hair

Like BS/ACV rinses, limit protein/humectants.
I'm thinking almost a pixie cut. Now, however, I kind of want to see how long I can get it. I want to get it to atleast get it to bra strap length. If I ever do decide to get a pixie, I will get my hair donated to Locks of Love.
