BRHG works for me!

Like Tree8Likes

I used a sample the past three days and I had great hair! I was a bit concerned in the beginning because my hair was literally rock hard and I couldn't believe that it would all turn out well after scrunching out the crunch. But it did! I had big, chunky curls and spirals and my hair didn't weigh down, but remained voluminous! It seems like I found a product that works for me.

What I did is I sprayed my hair wet, combed it with a wide tooth comb, applied a generous amount of CJ CQ, plop for about as long as it takes me to apply eye make-up and to brush my teeth, take out the plop, apply to fingertips of BRHG by scrunching it in and let it air dry. Looks terrible in the beginning, but great once I can SOTC.

I'm not a fan of CJ CQ and I haven't BRHG alone yet, but the hold is great whereas CQ just leaves my hair with minimum hold. I think I'm going to get the full-size bottle of BRHG, which even happens to be available in stores the Netherlands!

Now I just need something like KCCC or the Shea Moisture Curling Soufflé under it instead of CQ. Something that leaves my hair moisturised and improves clumping.

I have only tried BRHG on dry hair before (only2-3 drops) which worked great and I am thinking of using it on wet hair but first I need to try other things and I don't like trying different things at a time...

You said that the full-size bottles of BRHG are even available in the Netherlands:
First of all, what do you mean with full-size bottles? (I found out that there is a "normal size" (150ml) and a "big size"(1000 ml) and if it works (I have the 150ml size, and I found it in a Belgian store as well) I might want to get the big size...

So: do they have the big size in the Netherlands? And if so: where, and at what price?
Glad that you found something that works for you!

2/c and some 3A.
Protein sensitive but can use occasionally
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.
Every day is a gift
I LOVE this stuff. I finally gave in and purchased some and am able to get 3rd day hair often!

Now I get almost tempted to try 2 new things today
Vinegarrinse (white vinegar) + BRHG

How much of the BRHG do you use on wet hair?
and do I apply it the same way as a normal styler?
I am still going to wait though till Tuesday
Neleke, I'm on the app now but I'll answer your questions when I get home tonight :-)

Hi Neleke! To answer your questions:

By full-size, I simply meant a normal bottle (as opposed to the sample I have right now). I had no idea there were different sizes! I'll look into it and get back to you, though it seems like Douglas (the only store selling it) stocks the 150 ml version.

I use two fingertips on wet hair. I simply dip the tip of my finger in the sample I have and rub it between my palms. Then I scrunch it in on one side. I apply the same method to the other side of my hair.

I'm curious to see how it works when not using CJ CQ under it. I'm going to try that on Tuesday, because I'll wash my hair again and will have a clean, polyquat-free slate.

HTH!

Oh, before I forget!

Jules, your hair looks gorgeous! I remember you got KCCC recently and love it. I'm thinking about buying it as well. And I experience the same with regards to BRHG: gives me something close to second day hair (but I prefer to refresh and style again).

Good that BRHG works for you! I love that stuff. I use it to top off my gel after the plop, but never tried it straight up on wet hair. Maybe I'll try tomorrow..

Let me know if that works! I'm going to make a French braid tomorrow because I actually have to wash it but I have to get up really early, so I'll try it on Tuesday. Who knows: it just might work for me without having to use another styling product prior to applying BRHG!

I just got home from my shift at work and noticed a bit of canopy frizz, so I took a dime size amt of hard hold gel (HESMU, but BRHG would work too, but it is much more expensive so I thought to use the less expensive one for this experiment) and rubbed it between my hands with water to thin it a little. Then I smoothed my hands over the canopy. It has already dried and I plan on leaving the crunch there and pineapple overnight and see how it looks in the morning.

Jules, what did your hair look like in the morning? Nice results?

I just washed my hair and applied BRHG without anything under it. Curious to see what the results are! My first hair day is usually my worst. Who knows, this just might be a HG for me. If I'm happy today, I'll get a bottle

When I have used BRHG without some enhancer or cream under it it does not scrunch out soft. It feels like it's over hairsprayed.

I'm actually quite pleased with my hair today. I even have a massive spiral! It's really big. My hair is nice and voluminous. I can't wait until I can get it (it's rather expensive here so I have to wait ). I used the last bit of my sample today so tomorrow I'll be back to just CJ CQ. Not looking forward to that now that I've had some great days.

When I'm out of CJ CQ, I'll get KCCC because it seems to work great for so many, especially with BRHG over it. I have to say though, BRHG on its own is not too bad!

Lauraimes: is it THAT expensive in the Netherlands? (BRHG I mean) because if so, you could maybe try to find it cheaper online? or in Belgium (where it's quite expensive as well, but maybe cheaper than where you live?)

Neleke, it's €17.40 for just 150 ml, which I think is rather expensive. How much is it in Belgium?
